TESTIMONIAL February 2015 I have known James for the last fieen years, as an acve humanitarian worker and also as an acve pianist in church. He has been working as a Project Coordinator in Global Missions Services among the Pokot and Turkana Communies for over ten years. James is a hardworking and resilient gentleman who has demonstrated an ability as a team player to work in a mul-cultural environment. He has established harmonious and effecve working relaonships among diverse communies. He has played a crical role in mobilizing resources for sustainable development in West Pokot. He has over 10 years experience developing and implemenng Water, Sanitaon and Hygiene (WASH) programmes, training women and youth groups. This has led to increased latrine coverage and usage in 3 pastoralist districts aer training and triggering community led total sanitaon from 14% to 40% from 2005-2008. Last but not least, since 2004, 8 communies in West Pokot have abandoned the pracce of child marriage and FGM/C through four Public Declaraons, represenng over 5% of the 3,000 communies that pracced these customs in 2002. He successfully implemented the graduaon of over 600 girls in the Alternave Rite of Passage Ceremony in West Pokot who made a public declaraon to “SAY NO to FGM/C” within a period of 5years.
