Medium Voltage SwitchgearWitness Test Procedure

The following Procedure provides Eatons Witness Test Standards for performing factory witness test.

These guidelines do not cover all details, variations, or combinations of the equipment, its installation, checkout, and safe operation. Care will be exercised to comply with local, state, and national regulations, as well as safety practices for this class of equipment.

All switchgear will be operated and tested by qualified Eaton personnel as defined by OSHA 29CFR1910 subpart 5.Supplied Information and Equipment

_ Personal Protective Equipment

_ Project folder

_ Certified Production Test Report

_ Construction Drawings

_ Witness Test Procedure

_ Product line contacts and phone numbers

Prior to Testing

1) Review:

_ Construction drawings associated with the equipment being tested

_ Site safety rules and emergency procedures

Inspection and Test ProceduresA FINAL REVIEW OF COMMENTS/DEFICIENCIES WILL BE CONDUCTED AT CONCLUSION OF TESTING.

1) Visual:

_ The device nameplate information is identical with the switchgear drawings.

_ Suitability and calibration dates of test sets

_ Circuit breakers to ensure they have the proper ampere, voltage and interrupting rating.

_ Verify all high voltage labels, UL labels and ANSI required labels are visible.

_ Auxiliary devices such as protective devices, meters, control switches are installed and wired.

_ That all VT and CT ratios properly correspond to drawings

_ That primary and secondary fuse ratings or circuit breakers match drawings

_ Meter scaling and type match drawings

_ Verify Switchgear Heaters and Thermostat installed (if applicable)

_ Verity correct cable entry positions i.e. top entry/bottom entry

_ Verify correct cable lugs (if required)

2) Mechanical:

Verify Breaker Racking Mechanism

_ Rack out one breaker in the closed position to verify cell interlock

_ Check breaker racks out freely without interferences

_ Attempt to rack breaker in closed position to verify cell interlock

_ Rack breaker to rails to ensure breaker spring is discharged

Verify Mechanical Breaker Operation

_ Open and close each breaker from the breaker cover

_ Open and close each breaker door and check for interferences

_ Open and close each Potential Transformer door(s) check for interferences

3) Electrical:

The protective relay, metering, and control settings must be supplied by the customers engineer or from a Power System Study performed prior to commissioning.

Apply Control Power to Switchgear

Verify Electrical Breaker Operation

_ Open and close each breaker with breaker control switch

_ Open and close each breaker from remote terminals (if applicable)

_ Close breaker, trip circuit breaker utilizing protective relay (if applicable)

_ Ensure 86 LOR operates (if applicable)

_ Ensure breaker a and b contacts operate

Verify Metering

_ Functionally test metering devices by energizing circuits to rated values

4) Operational Controls

_ Test Automatic Transfer System (if applicable)

_ Other Operational Test

5) Final details after Witness Test are complete.

_ Complete mimic bus.

_ All remaining nameplates installed.

_ Drawers and doors aligned.

_ Danger labels and other warning stickers.

_ Vacuum and perform final cleaning of gear.

_ Touch up painting.

Estos [guidelines] no cubren todo detalles, variaciones, o combinaciones del equipo, su instalacin, [checkout], y funcionamiento seguro. Se ejercer condescender afliccin con local, estado, y regulaciones nacionales, tan satisfactorio como prcticas de la seguridad por esta clase de equipo.

Se operar todo [switchgear] y prob por Eaton calificado personal como defini por OSHA 29CFR1910 [subpart] 5.

Inspeccin y Procedimientos de la Prueba

Un FINAL REPASO De COMENTARIOS/ se CONDUCIRAN DEFICIENCIAS A CONCLUSION De COMPROBACION.1) Visual:

_ El informacin del placa de nombre del aparato es idntico con los dibujos del [switchgear].

_ Conveniencia y calibracin fecha de juegos de la prueba

_ ola grande del Circuito asegurarlos tiene el amperio propio, voltaje e interrumpe valuacin.

_ Verifica todo etiquetas del voltaje altas, UL etiqueta y ANSI requiri etiquetas es visible.

_ aparatos Auxiliares aparatos tal como proteccionistas, metros, se instalan interruptores del mando y alambraron.

_ Ese todo VT y CT proporciones propiamente corresponden a dibujos

_ Ese primero y valuaciones de la espoleta secundarias U ola grande del circuito se casan dibujos

_ escamadura del Metro y dibujos del fsforo del tipo

_ Verifica Switchgear Calentadores y Thermostat instal (si aplicable)

_ Verdad entrada del cable correcta posiciona [i.e]. entrada de la cima/ entrada del fondo

_ Verifica cable correcto lleva (si requiri)

2) Mecnico:

Verifique ola grande Atormenta Mecanismo

_ Atormenta ausente un ola grande en la posicin cerrada verificar [interlock] de la celda

_ ola grande en jaque atormenta fuera libremente sin interferencias

_ intenta atormentar ola grande en posicin cerrada verificar [interlock] de la celda

_ Atormenta ola grande a barras asegurar ola grande salta se descarga

Verifique Funcionamiento del ola grande Mecnico

_ Abre y cierra cada ola grande del ola grande cubre

_ Abre y cierra cada puerta del ola grande y cheque por interferencias

_ Abre y cierra cada puerta del Transformador Potencial (s) cheque por interferencias3) Elctrico:

La parada de la proteccin, [metering], y escenas del mando deben ser suministradas por el ingeniero del clientes o de un Sistema del Poder Estudia ejecut prior a comisionar.

Aplique Poder del Mando a Switchgear

Verifique Funcionamiento del ola grande Elctrico

_ Abre y cierra cada ola grande con ola grande controla interruptor

_ Abre y cierra cada ola grande de trminos remotos (si aplicable)

_ ola grande Estrecho, ola grande del circuito del viaje utiliza parada de la proteccin (si aplicable)
