WHAT IS THE TAOGS ?
»DLR has contracted TESAT to design, build and operate a transportable
optical ground station with adaptive optics for the return path.
» Tesat has received the next contract (up to 2019) to perform experiments
with the LCT on Alphasat including the TAOGS
» Third party users are welcome for proposals. Current collaboration are with
IKN-satellite networks- for end to end coding, and MPI Erlangen for CV-
QKD.
» Experimental system with 1-2 operators in station, no plans for remote
control or full autonomy
»Sequential procedure for calibration, link acquisition, and link execution
» TAOGS design for downlink validated, uplink performance optimization is
part of the ongoing research
