Global War on Terrorism (GWOT)• GWOT: means Global war on terrorism. The global war on terrorism began

since the 9/11 terrorist attack on the US. The global war on terror is expensive.

• GWOT is now called overseas contingency operation: to better the situation in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

• In Pakistan, the US want to challenge the north and south Waziristan, and increase in predator drone strikes.

• In Iraq, they are trying to get a stable democracy.• Afghanistan Obamas war had a special military operation to go in

Afghanistan to take out the Taliban’s. The mission is economic development, build capacity, attack terrorists develop partnerships and educate and train.

• War on terror also gives the justification to violate human rights by detaining suspected terrorists, interrogation methods with use of torture and accessing personal computers.
