Dear Media Professional,Terrence L. Gallman was in a fight for his life. During his 12 years in prison, Terrence’s life story seemed identical to many young Black men who lived a life of crime in urban America. Although his soul was deeply wounded and he was haunted by fear and shame, Terrence knew in his heart that he was better than his past and the cell that held him captive.

Determined to rise above his extenuating circumstances and not be a statistic, Terrence drew strength and inspiration from those around him, and fell for a woman on the outside who wanted nothing to do with building a future with an incarcerated man. Although the chemistry between them was undeniable, and she was drawn to his irresistible charm and intellect, she disappeared from his life, forcing him to face his feelings head on and re-evaluate his life, beliefs and actions from a more empowered perspective.

His heart-wrenching, yet inspiring journey compelled him to write his debut novel, Love’s Journey: The Road Less Traveled, a literary masterpiece that is partially based on his life, the transformative power of love, and forgiveness. Love’s Journey: The Road Less Traveled and his second release, Finding Me, are more than just novels; they are essential guides that help people break free from the toxic choices and actions that keep them locked and bound emotionally, spiritually, physically and mentally.

After being released from prison, Terrence has dedicated his life to sharing his story around the world, and empowering at-risk youth and people who find themselves trapped in self-destructive lifestyles and behaviors. An inspiring speaker, author, activist, playwright and who is enriching people’s lives all over the world, Terrence’s life story is an eye-opening wake up call that can heal relationships and transform lives from the inside out.

An accomplished entrepreneur and writer, Mr. Gallman’s books are highly anticipated films, and he is currently developing screenplays about his life. His other book titles and screenplays include, Love’s Journey 2, The Phazes of Men, Prisoner of Conscious, Conscious Prisoner, Cain and Abel, Saving Adam, Saving Eve, Why We Don’t Know Martin, Malcolm, Mahatma, Nor Mandela. Terrence is available for media appearances, seminars, panels, interviews, and speaking engagements.

Author Terrence L. Gallman Sheds Light on Love, Life, Prison, and Redemption in Love’s Journey: The Road Less Traveled

Author Terrence L. Gallman thought he knew all he needed to know about love and relationships until a string of unfortunate events landed him behind bars. Facing 12 years in prison for drug conspiracy, Gallman’s future seemed bleak and discouraging. While serving his sentence, Gallman felt compelled to write his first book, Love’s Journey: The Road Less Traveled, a story about Saleem, a young man who-just like Gallman-is serving time in prison.

Through his character, Terrence was able to live out his frustrations and pent-up emotions about a woman he calls Nefertite, a woman he fell for while he was in prison. Although the book is partially fiction, Love’s Journey: The Road Less Traveled, depicts some of Gallman’s most painful true life experiences, and reveals the struggles he faced overcoming the personal demons of his past while being transformed into the man he is today. “One of the reasons I wrote the book was I couldn’t be with the woman I desired to be with, so I had to find a way to express my true feelings about her,” Gallman confesses.

“I also wanted readers to get a full understanding of what incarcerated men go through and to have an opportunity to show that many of them are not heartless criminals-they also have the same needs as everyone else; they just made poor choices that didn’t serve them or society. I also wanted to reveal what true love is all about because it helped me-someone who was thought of as a failure and menace to society-to become a success. Although I was physically separated from the outside world, it didn’t stop me from experiencing love on a mental, spiritual and emotional level. One of the things I want people to get from reading my book is that unconditional love can turn any situation around, and can make a man a better person spiritually, mentally, and physically. It can heal the soul and turn a wounded boy into a responsible and authentic man.

Although society tends to look down upon people in prison, the truth is that there are many different types of prisons-many people are mentally and emotionally held captive by their fears, traumas, and past life experiences. They may not be physically serving time in a cell, but they can’t move forward in their lives because their fear, anger, and resentments are holding them back. The characters in my book are prime examples of this fact,” explains Gallman. Although there have been significant debates on national platforms regarding the differences between men and women, Terrence sets the record straight and puts a new spin on relationships that shatters myths about what men really want from women. “When it comes to love and relationships, men want the same things women want.

Most men crave affection, emotional connection, and true intimacy but they don’t know and aren’t taught how to express their needs. When you are incarcerated, everything that mattered to you the most on the outside becomes insignificant, and the only thing that matters is love,” states Gallman. Terrence L. Gallman is an acclaimed author, speaker, entrepreneur and life coach who helps people live empowered lives. He also provides support and guidance to men and their families, and teaches them how to have successful relationships with their wives and significant others during and after incarceration. Love’s Journey: The Road Less Traveled Excerpt

Nef had no idea how the prison world could be so cold and dogmatic, yet also provide such sensational and intriguing insight into her world. Although she stayed only a few miles from the penitentiary, she felt as though she was from a faraway world from his-a world that seemed so hard to live in. Like problems of her own, one has to deal with the hand they’ve been dealt and make the best out of their situation. Tough times didn’t begin with her and wouldn’t end because of her.

She had enjoyed Saleem’s company and thought the world of his resilience. She could hear his passion and anticipation without asking, but his eyes, voice, and body language had said everything, and she did not know if his desire for her came from vulnerability and/or the loneliness of prison.

Her heart went out to Saleem and Khailil whom she had before ridiculed, but now had a place in her heart for both. She felt even more pain for Monica, whom she ridiculed about her support of and commitment to Khailil. She sympathized more with her now and could partially understand how she felt.

Saleem pulled at hear heart, but she could not give any more of herself. Tomorrow, she would talk things through with Saleem to see if there was more to him and his situation. Or perhaps, she would simply have to retreat into herself.
