They were made to guard Emperor Qin Shi Hung after his death. In 1974, when some people were digging a well, they discovered a terracotta head. Scientists continued digging. Finally, they found hundreds of warriors buried. The scientists found the soldiers 15 to 20 feet below the ground. Above the soldiers, there was a special roof, which was covered with dirt. The solders have been well hidden. The scientists carefully dug up over 7,000 items from the pits. Now, people come from all over the world to see the Terracotta Army.
