1. INTRODUCTION
At the request of Mr. T.F. Madden* an induced polarization and
resistivity survey has been completed in Eleevir Township in the Bannockburn
area of Ontario for Madden and Osborne Prospecting Syndicate.
A test survey had been completed on the same survey grid in late
June and early July of 1970. Outcropping disseminated copper mine r a li r at ion
had prompted an interest in the area, as well as favourable aesay results of
grab samples of the outcrop. The test survey, which used 100 foot and 50
foot electrode intervals, located an anomalous zone which, corresponded with
the mineralized outcrop. The present survey was carried out using 200 foot
electrode intervals to try to determine whether the anomalous zone had any
depth extent.
2. PRESENTATION OF.RESULTS.
The induced polarization and resistivity results are shown on the

data plots in the manner described in the notes preceding this
report,

Enclosed with this report is Dwg, I. P. P. 3448, a plan map of the
grid at a scale of l" ~ 300'. The definite and possible induced polarisation
anomalies are indicated by solid and broken bars respectively on this plan
map as well as the data plots* These bars represent the surface projection
of the anomalous zones ae interpreted from the location of the transmitter
and receiver electrodes when the anomalous values were measured.
Since tho induced polarisation measurement is essentially an
averaging process, as are all potential methods, it is frequently difficult
to exactly pinpoint the source of an anomaly. Certainly, no anomaly can
be located with more accuracy than the spread length; i.e. when using 200*
spreads the position of a narrow sulphide body can only be determined to
lie between two stations 200' apart. In order to locate sources at come
depth, larger spreade must be used, with a corresponding increase in the
uncertainties of location. Therefore, while the centre of the indicated
anomaly probably corresponds fairly well with source, the length of the

Indicated anomaly along the line should not be taken to represent the exact
edges of the anomalous material.
3. DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
Two anomalous xonea were located by the survey, Zone A, which
lien at the western edge of the grid, may be caused by the presence of the
hydro lines which run parallel to the bate line. The source of the anomalous
zone should be checked by transmitting under the power line and receiving
away frorc* the power line.
A zone of low resistivities, which may be a fault cone* has been
defined by the survey as illustrated in Dwg. I. P. P. 3448. The second
anomalous 7,one, Zone B, is associated with the eastern edge of this re
sistivity low. The pattern of the anomalies in Zone B suggests that there
may be irregular concentrations of mineralization in a weakly disseminated
mineralized source rock.
4. SUMMARY AND RECOMMENDATIONS
It is recommended that the source of Zone E be tested on Line 4N
with a hole drilled to intercept the anomaly under 7F at a vertical depth of
200'. If drilling results are encouraging, further detail with longer electrode
intervale could be carried out to better define the source of the anomalies.
The source of the Zone A anomalies should be checked to determine
whether the anomalies are caused by the power lines, or by a mineralised
source.
