The service operates from 07.30am until midnight 7 days a week.Advanced Nurse Practitioners are employed in the department who independently see, assess, diagnose and treat patients with a variety of illness.ThrombolysisThe specialist thrombolysis nurses compliment the nursing team in resuscitation where they see and assess patients attending with chest pain. The service is led by Sister Rebecca Keld.AttendancesIn the year 2007/08 there where 85,227 new attendances and approximately 8,000 reviews attending the Emergency Care Centre. This equates to approximately 234 patients every day ranging from cardiac arrests, heart attacks, car accidents, sprained ankles, broken legs and cut fingers.
