Standard Marking

Markings are applied directly to the sides of Series 1000, 2000, 3000,4000 & 5000. Standard characters are white and 1/8” high. Factory maysubstitute 3/32” high characters.

The 15133 is a series of input/output circuit boardconnectors. Available in a 1-piece or 2-piece design, theystack side-by-side with self-aligning housings to preventincorrect mating. Both designs feature an integral, livinghinge cover that saves the labor of attaching a separatecover. The cover provides a dead front for prevention ofelectrical accidents, yet it also has test probe holes for easycircuit testing.

The 1-piece design is for applications not requiringdeplugging the connector. It solders to the printed circuitboard. Molded stand-offs ensure good solderability.

The 2-piece design enables quick connect and disconnect ofseveral circuits at once. It allows fast board changing in thefield without shutting down the entire system. The bottomsection of the connector solders to the board. Male contactsare shrouded while the female has stand-offs; both aremolded into the block. The top section of the connectorplugs into the bottom section.

By utilizing an in-house Model Shop and state-of-the-art technology such as advancedcomputer aided design (CAD) and ProE, MAGNUM has the ability to reduce the time ittakes to move from a concept to a prototype. Functional prototypes are available inweeks, not months, which enables our customers to get a jump on their competition.Our design engineers also take advantage of electronic mail to transfer files back andforth, which greatly reduces time in the design process.

MAGNUM also utilizes a complete in-house UL and CSA qualified testing facility. Thissaves our customers valuable time and money by eliminating the costly expense andred tape involved in gaining agency approvals.

Power Connector

This power connector is used in utility substations and allows safe,uninterrupted electricity flow to aprotective relay. This block saved ourcustomer 30% in cost and was morereliable than the competitor’s block.

Quick Connect PowerConnector / PowerJunction Block

These blocks are used in a serviceablecircuit breaker unit. The triple quickconnect power connector is capable ofcarrying 30 Amps, 300 Volts. Bothblocks saved our customer 20% incost while reducing the overallconnector count in the unit.

Back Housing for PLC

This custom product is primarily used inthe chemical refinement and food pro-cessing industries. The removable wireconnectors, which were previously notavailable, allow for easy installation forthe end user.

Dead-Front Connector

This dead-front connector is used as anI/O device in industrial systems to man-age controlling equipment, motors, andHVAC equipment. It took MAGNUM’sdesign engineers only 5 months todesign the connector, develop proto-types, and release parts for productiontooling.

Edgecard Connector

This edgecard connector interfaceswith a double-sided printed circuitboard. It is used as a fault indicatorfor power transmission substations.

UL 1059 Basic Voltage Rating

Voltage ratings of terminal blocks arebased on the minimum spacing betweenelectrical conductive parts of oppositepolarity or between an electrically con-ductive part and a metal mounting sur-face measured under two conditions:Through Air, defined as the distance anarc must take through air to go from one live conductor to anotheror from a live conductor to ground; andOver Surface, defined as the distancean arc must take over the sur-face of the insulating material going fromone terminal to ground, assuming thearc will travel along the surface ratherthan through the air. The following chartshows UL 1059 spacing requirements,in inches.

UL and CSA Compliance

Magnum® Terminal Blocks comply fullywith UL 1059 and UL 94VO self-extin-guishing classification. The blocks arerecognized under UL file no’s. E48580and E62622 and CSA no’s. LR28145and LR15364. Note: UL ratings higherthan those listed are possible and canvary, depending upon the application.Requests for higher ratings are consid-ered by UL on an individual basis.Where UL or CSA listings are required,it is usually easier to gain approvals onfeed-thru blocks that have insula-tor bases.

IEC Compliance

Most Magnum® Terminal Blocks complywith the requirements in IEC Publication947-7-1 Low Voltage Switchgear andControlgear. These blocks are concur-rently Recognized and Certified underthe UL Classification Program. Ratings,except where indicated, are concurrentwith UL 1059.
