We are rapidly moving towards the end of the year

and Christmas. We will have our final newsletter in

week 10.

Presentation Day Tomorrow

We would like to INVITE all our Community, Parents

and Friend’s of Gwandalan Public School to attend our

end of year Special Presentation Day Assembly. Our

Assembly will commence at 9.30am and finish at

11.00am. This is a great opportunity for us to recognise

the outstanding efforts of our students in 2018.

This will be followed by a special morning tea for our

special guests and our parent helpers in the library.

All teachers will be recognising students in their

classrooms. The school have been in contact will all

parents of students receiving class & special awards at

the end of year presentation.

Leaders for 2019 Our leaders for 2019 have been announced. They are as follows, in no particular order; Briella Gyler-Dial, Tori Adamson, Imogen Mitchell, Heidi Smidt, Isaac Davy, Zachariah Wahby, Harrison Davis and Willy Lambert. Congratulations to these students. This year we will again have 8 leaders. Their captain and prefect positions will be announced on Presentation Day.

New 2019 Kindergarten Transitions Next Wednesday finalises our Kindergarten Transition program. It has been great to see so many children attend our sessions. We are looking forward to seeing all our Kindergarten

for their first day of school on Monday 4th February.

Hunter Life Education

The Life Education bus will be onsite next week. All

classes will be attending. Hunter Life Education

provides a specialised health lesson for students

beyond what teachers are able to do in their

classrooms. We are fortunate it is onsite and

subsidised for us by $5.oo. Please return the note, pay

the $5 for your child asap if you have not done so

already. We would like all children to attend.

ALL Year levels will be sent home on Monday 17th

December. Any concerns please contact the school.

Principal’s Morning Tea

All students who have received their Principal’s Award

(our highest PBL award) will have a special morning tea

with me on Monday 17th December.

Positive Behaviour for Learning

Our K-6 PBL lesson for Week 7

and 8 is Special Assemblies.

Important information regarding bus travel for Year 2 students moving into Year 3

School student applications for 2019 open from Monday, 15 October 2018.

Students progressing to year 3 and year 7 do not need to re-apply if they:

are residing at the same address

Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition which is due to expire will receive notification advising

them to re-apply.

Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply.

Students in the Opal network applying for a SSTS or Term Bus Pass entitlement for the first time will receiv their card at their

nominated postal address. Cards will be matled out during December 2018 and January 2019.

Students residing in Rural and Regional (R&R) areas should receive their travel pass at the commencement of the new

school year from their nominated operator. Note: some R&R operators do not issue travel passes. Students should check

with their operator for more information.

3. Add your Flexischools Account

Already a Flexischools User - Enter your details and login. Click on the ‘Order now’ button located in the bottom right-hand menu of the App, this will open up a login screen.

New Flexischools User - Click ‘Register,’ enter your email address and follow the

instructions in the email.

We look forward to you placing your orders on the Flexischools app soon. The Flexischools Team

Please note that Friday 14th Dec will be the last day that the Uniform Shop is open for Term 4.

Laybys are welcome. 20% cash deposit required. All layby payments need to be paid by cash only.

The Uniform Shop will be open before School starts back for 2019. Friday 25th January 1pm to 3pm Tuesday 29th January 12 to 3pm
