THE STOCK REPORT
A message from Mr Leary… Welcome to the Week 4 edition of The Stock Report. After the welcome rain last week the school is looking a picture at the moment. On a bitterly cold day, it was wonderful to welcome our visitors to our Education Week Open Day last week. Both classrooms were engaged in quality learning tasks: K-2 completed a technology task while 3-6 wrote and coded a narrative using the Ozobots, then completed a watercolour artwork of a tree. A BBQ lunch, cooked to perfection by Skye Berryman, was enjoyed by all. Grandma Lynn prepared some tasty treats for the students that really hit the spot on a cold winter’s day. Unfortunately we had to cancel our games afternoon due to the inclement weather.
Education Week activities included coding, watercolour paintings and technology tasks
Last week we welcomed Mr Godman back to Stockinbingal PS. He will be teaching the 3-6 class each Wednesday, which will be Mr Leary’s office day. Mrs Perry, who is currently filling in for Mrs Webber, will be staying on, covering teacher release each Tuesday. It is fantastic to have committed and dedicated staff teaching our students.
Mr Godman has the students engaged in his volcanic
eruption science experiment, while Aidan creates his volcano
Volcanic Eruption Experiment Recounts It was a fountain of fizz, a mountain of blood, dripping, slipping, melting! I would love to do
that at home. Aidan
In our experiment, the eruption was less than I expected. It was a
fountain of awesomeness. It erupted, foamed, fizzled and bubbled. It was an awesome experiment that I want to try at
home. Noah

Have you downloaded Skoolbag yet? It will be used as one of our main communication tools-download to you device TODAY!
On Wednesday we had a visit from Jess (Little Athletics NSW and Greg (Temora LAC). Jess promoted the many benefits of being involved in Little Athletics and showed the students some different equipment used by athletes, including an Olympic size shot put and discus. Rebecca did very well to hold the shot put which was huge. If you are interested in joining the Temora Little Athletics Centre, please refer to the flyer below. The season commences on Wednesday 21st August at 4.00pm.
Next Friday, 23 August, we will travel to Cootamundra for the annual book week parade. Assistance is required with transport to and from Cootamundra. Any assistance is greatly appreciated. Please return permission notes ASAP-these were sent home on Wednesday.
Thanks to Roylie for organising to mulch the rose gardens recently. It is wonderful when everyone chips in a does a bit around the place to make our little school such a special place. Keep an eye on the school as there are many other projects in the pipeline in the coming weeks.
The gardens are looking beautiful at the moment
and will look magnificent come Spring

Cootamundra Zone Athletics Carnival
Congratulations to all SPS athletes who attended the zone carnival yesterday. The students did their absolute best in all track and field events and we had some students achieve very pleasing personal results. It was great to see Markus, Aidan and Jessy participate, and do very well in the new 1500m event. I have included below the Riverina qualifying standards that apply to our zone, to clear up some conflicting information that was circulating at the carnival yesterday. We are allowed to nominate: Track Events 800m: 1 entry per age group 1500m: 1 entry per age group 100m/200m: 2 entries per age group Relay: 2 teams per age group Fields Events
1 entry per age group for each event
