Scan the QR codes to access our Apps on the various platforms Dear Parents, Welcome to Term 4! Im not sure where the time has gone but the year has just flown by. Another productive term awaits us, beginning this week with the Year 5 excursion to Ballarat and our Fete on Friday evening. Last term concluded with the Year 6 excursion to Canberra and Mercy Day celebrations. I had the pleasure to attend the Year 6 excursion and it proved to be a won- derful educational experience, and a great way to interact with the students outside the school environment. Our students proved to be perfect repre- sentatives for our school and I commend them on their exemplary behav- iour and willingness to welcome the learning opportunities presented. Of course an excursion such as this would not be possible without the support of the parents of the students, and the support of the staff involved. So a big thank you- particularly to Leanne Newth, Rhiannon Dolahenty, Sharlene Croker, Isabella Crisfield and Ian Aldrich. Our Mercy Day celebrations allowed us to recognise the wonderful works of the Sisters of Mercy and give thanks to the significant contributions they have made to our school, our parish and the wider community. The morning began with Mass in our Hall followed by Morning Tea. It was a privilege that several of the Sisters could celebrate with us and we were also blessed with the presence of two former Principals of St Annes, Sister Loretta Corri- gan and Sister Anne Hagan. As a school community, we hold the Sisters of Mercy very close to our hearts and understand the importance of keeping their charism alive. Tomorrow the Year 5 students will depart on their overnight excursion to Sovereign Hill. They will be ac- companied by Caroline McCowan, Chris Lewis, Rebecca Art, Tanya Gordon and myself. The week will conclude with our Fete. So much preparation, by many people, has gone into this and I am looking forward to seeing you all there. A big thankyou to our Fete Committee for the endless hours you have spent organising this major fundraiser for our school. Finally, I would like to let you know that Mrs Jones had her baby during the holidays. A big congratula- tions to Cassandra and her husband on the arrival of beautiful little Amelia! All art show entries must be brought to the students classroom with their $1 (per entry) on Thursday, no later than 3.15pm. Artworks will be on display in the hall during the fete. NEW SCHOOL APP School Stream App is now being used by our school to communicate news, alerts and events. This new format will be the preferred way for parents to communicate student absences.

1. From your mobile device go to the App Store (iPhone/iPad) or Google Play (Android) and search for School Stream and download the app to your phone.

2. Make sure you agree to push notifications. 3. Once School Stream has finished installing, open the app, type your school name into the

search THEN select your school. For more detailed instructions go to schoolstream.com.au/download

(Please note that our previous app is now obsolete.)

Did you know that there are only 75 days until Christmas?

Please do NOT send nuts or nut products to school.

MACKILLOP ATHLETIC TRIALS At the end of last term the following students competed at the MacKillop Athletics trials in Syd-ney at Olympic Park. Congratulations to: Aleira who won a silver medal in High Jump. Kijana, Imogen, Charli and Aleira won a silver medal in the 4x100m relay. Xylavene placed 4th in the shot put and Elijah 12th in the High Jump. Aleira, Imogen, Charli and Kijana will now represent the MacKillop team at the PSSA State Athletics next week in Sydney. FETE CAKE PLATES

Cake plates for the fete were sent home yesterday. We would be grateful for any donations de-livered to the hall on Friday. Please make sure to include an ingredient list with your plate.

OOSH A reminder to parents that if your child is booked in to after school care (eg. North Albury OOSH) to please let them know in advance if your child will not be attending on a particular day. We have had many occurrences of the OOSH team members trying to locate children whose after school arrangements have been changed but not communicated to the OOSH team . LATE ARRIVALS/EARLY LEAVERS If your child arrives late for school or leaves early, you will need to come into the office with them to fill out a late/early note. These notes are given to your child’s classroom teacher who will record the details on the official electronic record of attendance. A ‘late arrival’ note must be completed if ever your child arrives after the bell has rung at 8.55am. If you need to collect your child early, please send a note in to the classroom teacher in the morning so that your child can be sent to the office in time for you to collect them. Please note that you will also need to fill in an ‘early leaver’ note when you arrive to collect them. AFTER SCHOOL ARRANGEMENTS If you need to get a message to your child about a change of plans for after school, please call the office as early as possible in the day so that we can quickly and easily pass the message on to your child. It can be-come very difficult to pass on messages received late in the day.

YEAR 6 CANBERRA EXCURSION

In the last week of Term 3, Year 6 students from our

school undertook an education tour of the national

capital.

Students were given the opportunity to participate in a

variety of educational programs with a focus on Aus-

tralia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance

of all young Australians being able to visit the national

capital as part of their Civics and Citizenship education.

To assist families in meeting the cost of the excursion

the Australian Government is contributing funding of

$20 per student under the Parliament and Civics Educa-

tion Rebate program towards those costs. The rebate is

paid directly to the school upon completion of the ex-

cursion.
