Term 2 Week 9
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
Term Two Ends I trust that everyone has a safe and enjoyable holiday. To all of the staff I would like to thank you for your efforts throughout the term. The students attending this school are very lucky indeed to have such dedicated and professional team looking after their emotional and academic interests. Just a reminder that Term 3 commences for students on Monday 16 July. Protective Behaviours Attached to this Newsletter are two flyers from the City of Gosnells regarding Protective Behaviours. Please take the time to have a look. In addition to the introduction of the Constable Care shows at the library, the City has also set up a section in the local libraries called “Tricky Topics”. LA13 Middle Assembly 15th June 2018
What a journey we travelled on today at assembly. LA 13 took us around Australia with a verse from well-known Australian anthems sung between each stop over! While at the Great Barrier Reef they told us that they Reef was struggling to stay healthy and reinforced the need to stop using plastic bags… At Uluru the spiritual centre of Australia, they informed us that it was the largest monolith in the world… When visiting the Pinnacles in Western Australia, it was the shape of these funny natural landforms that caught their imagination. Congratulation Mrs Tantiprasut, Mr Leo and all the incredibly brave and capable Year 3 students in LA 13 on an assembly presented as a storytelling, drama, informational text with a diary thrown in!

LA8 Junior Assembly 22th June 2018
On Friday 22nd June the Mrs Long’s Year 2 class presented the Colin Thiele poem The Bunyip in the Bathroom. Bunyips have been quite popular in Southern River during Term 2, but we were surprised to find that sometimes they do venture into bathrooms. The students participated enthusiastically with great actions and wonderfully expressive rendering of the poem.
