Classroom Report
Sunset Classroom - Journalist Report
In the first week of term, students aged 9-12 years ran around the Ouyen
Lake. Some students ran 3 km and some ran a shorter distance. When I
started to run I hit a plastic pole and fell over. I grazed my hands and el-
bow but I got back up and kept running. I ran around the lake in 19
minutes and 32 seconds. By Jake Lovitt.
A visit from ‘Phil the Bucket’ - GWM Water
On Tuesday the 20th of April, the students in Years F - 6 were fortunate to
receive a visit from ‘Phil the Bucket’. ‘Phil the Bucket’ and members of the
GWM Water team were visiting local schools and organisations in the dis-
trict to educate community members on the ways in which we can help
conserve water.
Phil and his team were very impressed with our students who listened at-
tentively and shared excellent strategies to conserve water, both at home
and at school. Thank you to ‘Phil the Bucket’ and his team for taking the
time to visit the staff and students at Underbool Primary School.
2021 NAPLAN - Years 3 and 5
From next week, students in Years 3 and 5 will be undertaking the National
Assessment Program for Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN). The program
provides parents and schools with an understanding of how individual stu-
dents are performing at the time of the assessments. From the beginning
of term, classroom teachers have worked with students to best prepare
them to complete the assessment. Further information in relation to the
NAPLAN Program has been attached to this week’s newsletter.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal
and Torres Strait Islander peoples
the first peoples and traditional
custodians of the lands where we
live, learn and work. We pay our
respects to the Elders, both past,
present and future, for they hold
the memories, traditions, culture
and hopes of Indigenous Australi-
ans.
