The school athle cs carnival will now be held on Friday 23rd March at “Dean Park” (Recrea on Grounds) commencing at 9am sharp and an cipate to conclude around 2:30pm. ALL STUDENTS (K – 6) par cipate in our school athle cs carnival. On the day of the carnival, parents will need to make arrangements for children to be transported to and from the recrea on grounds and those students who normally travel on buses will be taken directly to the grounds in the morning and collected in the a ernoon, if required. There will no staff at the school in the morning, as they will be at the grounds se ng up for the carnival. Children will be allowed to go home with their parents at the comple on of the carnival. Those children who are not collected from the grounds will be walked back to school un l home me of 3:15pm.

In the past, we have conducted heats for shot put and discus at school in the lead up to the carnival, with only (4) finalists compe ng at our main carnival day. However, last year we trialed for all students to compete in shot put and discus at the recrea on grounds and this seemed to work quiet well. Therefore, we will be running with this program again. The OSSA carnival has introduced a new track event of 1500m. Therefore, we have added this to our carnival program for junior & senior students who wish to compete. **Due to facili es and equipment, high jump and long jump will be held at the school prior to the carnival. We will be conduc ng a high jump and long jump day at SCHOOL on Friday 9th March, commencing at 11:30am, where all students K‐6 will be compe ng on this day. Parents are most welcome to come along and watch their children in these events.

Like all our carnivals the staff relies heavily on assistance from the parents. We will need assistance with line marking the track and lanes at the oval prior to carnival day, and mekeeping, and recording for field events on the day. If you are able to help out in anyway, please complete the helper form available on our school stream app. Thank you.

All of this informa on and a copy of the program was sent out on school stream yesterday.

Save the Date ‐ Monday 9th April ‐ OSSA Athle cs carnival for primary students only (aged 8 years and upwards) More details will be supplied next week.
