PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE ANZAC Day Assembly 2019

Our school ANZAC Day School Assembly will be held on

Friday at 10:40am. We invite all friends and families to

commemorate this occasion with students and staff.

During the assembly students will reflect on the

sacrifice, determination and respect of the soldiers

who gave their lives during conflict, as well as the

challenges they endured. Students will hear about

mateship and camaraderie which has sustained our

country. ANZAC Day is the 25th April and is on

Thursday of the second week of school holidays.

Easter Hat Parade

The annual Easter Hat Parade will take place on Friday

12th at 2:00pm and provide our students a chance to

show off their unique craft work and creations. All

students will create their ‘hats’ in class for the parade.

This event is always one of great enjoyment for our

students and families.

We look forward to many families joining us for this

special occasion.

At the end of the parade our Easter Raffle will be

drawn.

Schools are to assemble in the new location of East End

Mall, near the corner of Faulkner Street. Students are

to wear full winter uniform on this day

We ask that students assemble by 10:15am as the

march is due to start at 10:30am. The march will end at

Central Park where the commemoration service will

commence at 11:00am.

Parents are asked to pick up the students from this

area as promptly as possible at the end of the service.

Thank you for your anticipated support in this

important event.

Should the weather be inclement the service will be in

the Armidale Ex-service Club. Local radio stations will

make this announcement if necessary.

around optical illusions – here are some

examples!

We have been learning about fractions this week and

knowledge and understanding of numerators and

denominators. Keep an eye on Seesaw for the

finished products.

Last Thursday 1/2 headed to Thalgarrah

Whooping Cough (Pertussis)

Keep coughing kids home and see your GP. Whooping cough (also called pertussis) began increasing across NSW towards the end of 2018, especially in children between the ages of 5 and 14 years. NSW Health anticipates that this increase will continue into 2019. School-aged children who are infected with whooping cough usually experience a troubling cough that can persist for months, but they rarely get severe illness. However they can spread the infection to younger siblings and other more vulnerable people, who are at higher risk of severe disease. Whooping cough can be a life threatening infection in babies. What can you do to prevent whooping cough?

1. Make sure vaccinations are up to date for all family members

2. Be alert for symptoms of whooping cough Keep coughing kids home, to prevent them spreading the infection to others, and see your GP to get them tested for whooping cough For more information on Whooping Cough and vaccination visit the NSW Health Website(https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/whoopingcough/Pages/default.aspx)
