Welcome back to Term

We would like to congratulate Kylie Mainwaring on her successful application to Kurrajong Public School as an Assistant Principal. Ms Mainwaring has been a valued teaching staff member at Greenway Park for 16 years. She has taught many grades over the years. Whilst we will all miss her we wish her the very best in her new school which is much closer to home. Ms Raquel Morales, through merit selection, with over 6 years teaching experience, will replace Ms Mainwaring as KM’s classroom teacher.

This Thursday the K-2 students will participate in a Easter Hat parade at 10.15am. Parents are reminded that only one parent or carer will be able to attend in line with Covid restrictions and social distancing guidelines set for schools.

Greenway Park have celebrated Harmony Day on Tuesday 30th March. Today students have been involved in many activities to raise awareness of the importance of the message Everyone Belongs. The response to the art competition was overwhelming with many brilliant entries. Unfortunately, we were not able to submit them all but they did allow us to submit a few as a school entry. Winners will be notified next term. Currently all entries are on display in the hall. We would like to congratulate the 27 school winners- Job well done!

Last Year I attended a department Principal forum that highlighted the importance of your child attending school every day unless they are sick. If your child was to attend school 90% of the school year, every year from Prep to Year 12, they would miss two and half years of schooling over this period. We cannot teach your child if they are not at school, so please help your child to get the best possible education they can, by ensuring they come to school each day.

Next term we will be focussing on students attending everyday with weekly goals to achieve.

PSSA Sport REMINDER Please make sure your child includes their FIRST NAME, SURNAME, CLASS and PSSA sport group on their payment envelope. If PSSA sport is cancelled, payment will transfer to the following week.

CANTEEN ONLINE ORDERING From approximately week 3 in term 2, the school canteen will have an online ordering service. Parents can register their children on the “School24” online website and place orders for the following day. The cut off time for online orders will be 9.00am each day. Any orders placed after 9.00am will not be registered for that day, however will be placed for the following day’s orders. Please use the attached information and guide to assist with your registration. Please understand that the online service is operated by an external operator so all issues with registration and any other issues should be directed to “schools24”. The school office will not be able to assist. “School 24” online will have 24/7 assistance and can address any issues if they occur. Finally, the canteen will still operate as normal for those that do not want to use the online service. Please note, registration is now open but online ordering has not been activated yet. We will advise and confirm when the online ordering can start.
