March 22, 2015 He is the Glue By: Russ Lawson In response to my article about "surprising myself," I received a note from our cousin Darrel this week with a great comment in it and wanted to share it with you. Darrel wrote, "Give people food and affection and make them feel secure, and for the most part they are fine. But sometimes they realize that something else is missing, but they just can't quite put their finger on it. Of course we know that believing in God is the final and most important part. He is the "Glue" that holds us together, both part and parcel. He gives us the final ingredient to our lives, the best part that enriches us and feeds the greatest hunger." I thought Darrel's comments were fantastic. "He (God) is the glue that holds us together." Paul said it this way in Ephesians 4: 15-16, "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." In Colossians 2:18-19 Paul writes, "Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God." The Greek here for the words "Knit Together" is literally: " to cause to coalesce, to join together, put together, to unite or knit together." That is exactly what glue does. Who is the glue of our lives? God! We sometimes hear people say, "I just can't seem to get it together," or "My life is falling apart." We know the secret that far too many don't. It you want to get it together and keep it together, then add the "Glue of God" to your life. He is what makes it all work; he is the original "super glue." May our God continue to bless you and help you keep it together everyday of your life! Preach on.

He is the Glue By: Russ Lawson

In response to my article about "surprising myself," I received a note from our cousin Darrel this week with a great comment in it and wanted to share it with you. Darrel wrote, "Give people food and affection and make them feel secure, and for the most part they are fine. I thought Darrel's comments were fantastic. "He (God) is the glue that holds us together." Paul said it this way in Ephesians 4: 15-16, "But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love." In Colossians 2:18-19 Paul writes, "Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God."

Ten Commandments for Human Relations -John Andreozzi

1. Speak to people - nothing is as nice as a cheerful greeting.

2. Smile at people. It takes 72 muscles to frown - 14 to smile.

3. Call people by name. The sweetest music is the sound of one's own name.

4. Be friendly and helpful. If you would have friends, be friendly.

5. Be cordial. Speak and act as if everything you do were a genuine pleasure.

6. Be genuinely interested in people. You can like something about almost anyone.

7. Be generous with praise, cautious with criticism.

8. Be considerate with the feelings of others. It will be appreciated.

9. Be thoughtful of the opinions of others. There are three sides to the controversy - your side,

the other side, and the right one.

10. Be alert to give service. What counts most in life is what you do for others.

A man that hath friends must show himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer

than a brother - Proverbs 18:24

Word SearchGenesis 3

And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. 9 Then the LORD God called to Adam and said to him, “Where are you?” 10 So he said, “I heard Your voice in the garden, and I was afraid because I was naked; and I hid myself.” 11 And He said, “Who told you that you were naked? Have you eaten from the tree of which I commanded you that you should not eat?” 12 Then the man said, “The woman whom You gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I ate.” 13 And the LORD God said to the woman, “What is this you have done?” The woman said, “The serpent deceived me, and I ate.” 14 So the LORD God said to the serpent: “Because you have done this, You are cursed more than all cattle, And more than every beast of the field; On your belly you shall go, And you shall eat dust All the days of your life. 15 And I will put enmity Between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, And you shall bruise His heel.” 16 To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; In pain you shall bring forth children; Your desire shall be for your husband, And he shall rule over you.”
