GSM RA.I, PARAMETERS

• R+Le/: Receiving level in terms of d?m that mobile is

receiving from the site. Subtracting 660 from the seen R)$ev

value on '"%S to get the d?m value. Range of -90 d?m to-660d?m.

• R+0ual: Fuality of voice which is measured on basis of ?"R.

Range of R)Fual 0 -;.

• ER: >rame "rasure Rate it represents the percentage of

frames being dropped due to high number of non-corrected

bit errors in the frame. (t is indication of voice quality in

network.• BER A'tual: Ratio of the number of bit errors to the total

number of bitstransmitted in a given time interval. ?"R is a measure for the

voice quality in network. &epending on ?"R R)Fual is

measured. "+g+ ?"R 0 to 0.5 Gcorresponds to R)Fual 0. %a). ?"R countable and useful is

up to 65.A G which corresponds to R)Fual of ma). ;.• S0I: SF( is a more sophisticated measure which is dedicated

to reHecting the quality of the speech 3as opposed to radio

environment conditions7. 'his means that when optimiDing

the speech quality in your network+ SF( is the best criterion

to use. SF( is updated at 0.8 s intervals. (t is computed on

basis of ?"R and >"R. >or ">R 90+ >R 1 56 *R 1 6; are

respectively ideal values.

• C2I: 'he carrier-over-interference ratio is the ratio between

the signal strength of the current serving cell and the signal

strength of undesired 3interfering7 signal components. (t

should be at least I 2.

• MS Po3er Control Le/el: Phone transmit power ordered by

the base station+ (t displays range of power control from 0 to

96 depending upon network design. ".g. 0 means no power

control and 6 means level that is dened by operator.

• .T4: &iscontinuous transmission 3&'E7 is a mechanism

allowing the radio

transmitter to be switched oJ during speech pauses. 'his

feature reduces the power consumption of the transmitter+

which is important for %Ss+ and decreases the overall

interference level on the radio channels aJecting the

capacity of the network.

• TA: <alue that the base station calculates from access bursts

and sends to the mobile station 3%S7 enabling the %S to

advance the timing of its transmissions to the ?S so as to

compensate for propagation delay. <alue of 0 means %S in

radius of 880mt from ?S.

• RL Timeout Counter "Cur%:  'his parameter denes the

ma)imum value of the value of the radio link counter

e)pressed in S/CC* blocks. Range of 1 4 in step siDe of .

(t shows current value of R$'. &ecrease by 6 but increase by

5. Khen it reaches Dero it results in normal &ROP call.

• RL Timeout Counter "Ma+%:  'his parameter denes the

ma)imum value of the value of the radio link countere)pressed in S/CC* blocks. Range of 1 4 in step siDe of .

(t shows current value of R$'. !ormally 64+ 50+ 5.

• MS Be&a/ior Modi6ed:  (ndicates whether the phoneLs

behavior has been changed from the default. %ost of what

• Cell Name: !ame that describes the neighboring cell as per

the cell-le.

• ARCN: Channel number mobile receives as neighbor.

• BSIC: ?S(C of the neighboring cell.

• R+Le/: Receiving $evel in d?m of neighboring cell.

• C1 C!: 'hese are the cell path loss criterion and cell

reselection criteria. <alid during idle mode of mobile station.
