HOSPITALITY
In the Ancient Greece, XENIA was an
sacred RELATIONSHIP whereby refreshment and hospitality to the stranger for the night was a custom of undeniable civilization. This practice was focused on three main requirements: 1_ RESPECT by the host to the guest 2_ respect by the guest to the host 3_ delivery of a "PARTING GIFT" to the guest by the host

The way we travel has changed, we live and work IN MOTION, and this new form of NOMADISM or HUMAN TRANSHUMANCEintroduced mobility as permanent condition.
This widespread and increasingly rapid shift has therefore raised the question of being able to quickly ADAPT THE AREA to the needs of intermittently flow.

Today, offering hospitality can therefore define a new NEED/EMERGENCY. through the development of innovative solutions, under the terms of
TEMPORARINESS and
SUSTAINABILITY, we may relieve the touristic congestion that many towns living in some periods of the year. It may become the new instrument to ADD VALUES to
the territory or CATALYST of additional events.

TUS
This "ephemeral meeting" is to host a guest in a light way and respectful of the
SOCIO-CULTURAL TRADITIONthrough a predisposition to FLEXIBILITY.
Design Camping stimulates responses to temporary, light, REVERSIBLE needs, as indeed is evidenced by the practice of camping.

Hospitality may result in PARTICIPATIONto planning and communication since the host, as the PUBLIC LAND, is the town itself, rather than a single subject.
It therefore raises the need to give the values of design and INNOVATION to the projects that are fundamental elements of the IDENTITY of the city itself.

DEVELOPMENT AREAS
TUS
Design of cell-based hospitality of urban camping, showing the internal configuration of devices that provide the flexibility of use from 1 TO 4 PEOPLEMultiple cells could be joined easily by users to have a LARGER SPACE
OUSING
TUS
Design of COLLECTIVE SPACES of urban camping, with great flexibility of use, which can accommodate both functions of SOCIAL AND REFRESHMENT(lounge, bar), and PRIMARY FUNCTIONS (toilets , kitchens, laundries)
OMMUNITY
TUS
Design of the NETWORK CONNECTION between the cell housing (pedestrian paths, lighting, signage etc) and "immaterial" communications services as (internet, radio, booking system, etc..).

goals
TUS
Not to move the MODEL OF CAMPING in the natural areas (sea, mountain, country) or emergency scenarios (natural disasters) to the city.
Stimulate NEW URBAN VISIONS, rooted in the territory and able to embody its values
TUS
MODEL OF CAMPINGNEW URBAN
VISIONS
To create a KIT FOR THE TRAVELLERS (WANDERER) in order to let him build its own idea of “house”, to personalize his space in a foreign town, to create a sense of community with several “wanderers”, hosts and guests
TUS
BOUTIQUEHOTELS
LOW COST
To break the association of “design” hospitality and BOUTIQUE HOTELS, stimulating design experiments in which the design of products, environments and services focus solutions like LOW COST
TUS
BOUTIQUEHOTELS
LOW COST
To generate positive VISIONS far from 1 star hotel rooms and create places not only to accommodate but also for meeting, exchange and socialization.

Urban Design Camping becomes a device of RE-APPROPRIATION of urban land that is often perceived as “shared by everybody but no owned by anybody"
To create A SYSTEM TO BE ADAPTED in several Milan contexts according to its features (landscape, environment, users etc.)
