the Palmach, while walking through a state of the art multimedia experience that allows a glimpse into the lives of extraordinary people at Beit Hapalmach (pending confirmation).

Alternative Track: �Walk through the museum at the new Rabin Center,

dedicated to the history of society and democracy in Israel. The life of the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin serves as a time-thread connecting the faces and events of modern Israeli history.

Track 1:�Along the Water: Challenge yourself on two wheels as you

bike from the Yarkon River, through the Tel Aviv Port and

along the shore side Tel Aviv promenade, ending at the old port of Jaffa.

Track 2:�Walk down Bialik Street in Tel Aviv for a visual journey

through Tel Aviv’s past and present, including a view of the houses of artist Reuven Rubin and writer Chaim Nachman Bialik.

tour of a clandestine munitions factory used during the British Mandate.

Alternative Track: �Defining and Meeting Israel’s Challenges for the Next 30

Years: Dialogue with a scholar from the Reut Institute. Reut is an innovative policy and strategy group designed to identify the gaps in current policy and strategy in Israel and the Jewish world, and work to build and implement new visions.

�Dialogue with members of the Jaffa Arab-Hebrew Theater, for perspectives on the challenges and successes of dealing with interfaith dialogue in a creative way.

DAY FIVE THURSDAY, JUNE 9, 2016 INTO THE DESERT, MASADA AND THE DEAD SEAIntroductory Track:�Early departure from the hotel with breakfast boxes to walk

up the Snake Path to Masada, Herod’s mountain palace and the site of the Jewish Zealots’ last stand against the Roman Legionnaires.

OR �Breakfast at the hotel. �Take the cable car to ascend to the top of Masada where

you will meet the rest of the group. �Tour the site and discuss Masada’s role as a symbol of

Jewish defence and its current significance in modern Israel.

mosaic floor, for an insight into Jewish spiritual life during the Byzantine period.

�Continue to Kibbutz Ein Gedi for a tour of the Kibbutz and a dialogue with a Kibbutz member on the evolution of the Kibbutzim.

through the alley ways of Tsfat, uncovering the hidden words, secret codes and mystical messages on a family scavenger hunt through the Old City of the ancient Kabbalists.

combination of Kabbala, culture and creativity.�Enjoy a stroll through the quaint art galleries and shop in

the artists’ colony.�Lunch on own en route.�Drive to the coastal plain for a guided visit to Caesarea, one

of the Land of Israel’s most important cities in the Roman Period; visit the Herodian theater and the new excavations along the Mediterranean shore, concluding with a visit to the ruined 900-year-old Crusader town.

Haifa Bay; view the Baha’i Gardens and gold-domed Shrine of the Bab, one of the holiest sites of the Baha’i religion.

university, among the world's top ten, dedicated to the creation of knowledge and the development of human capital and leadership.

�Time permitting: Visit the Mukhraka (Horn of the Carmel), the monastery of the “place of burning” where according to Jewish, Christian, Druze and Muslim belief, the dramatic battle between Elijah and the prophets of Baal took place. The panoramic view in all directions is spectacular.
