With the aim of facilitating your stay in Luxembourg, we have prepared this practical information guide. We hope you find it useful and we look forward to welcoming you in Luxembourg.

I. Registration

II. Venue

The seminar will take place at the Neumünster Abbey - 28, rue Münster, L-2160 Luxembourg.

The venue is located at 1.2 km from the city centre, 1.7 km from the train station and 9 km from the airport. Further information about Neumünster, can be found here:

Free Wi-Fi will be available at the meeting venue.

The venue is accessible to persons with disabilities and assistance will be provided if needed.

III. Accommodation

The Department of Defence has pre-reserved a number of hotel rooms in Luxembourg City. Please note that rooms are blocked for a limited period only (cut-off date indicated below) and due to the high demand during that period you are strongly advised to proceed with your reservations as soon as possible. All costs incurred during your stay have to be covered by yourself.

N.B. Due to several Presidency events taking place on the same date in Luxembourg, there are limited accommodation options. It is therefore in your best interest to make your hotel arrangements as soon as possible.

VII. Transportation

The Department of Defence organised transportation to and from the meeting venue. Departure will be at 08:45 from the three bus stops below. After the seminar free transportation will be at your disposal to the Luxembourg train station, airport and city centre.

The bus stops are marked with the logo of the Presidency as on the picture below:

Bus stop: Cathedral (9, Rue Notre-Dame) – Ideally situated for those staying in the city centre.

Bus stop: Train station (1 place de la Gare, platform 12) – Ideally situated for those staying at Hotel Park Inn by Radisson, Mercure Grand Hotel Alfa and Hotel Golden Tulip Central Molitor.

TaxisTaxi services are available 24 hours a day and are located outside the arrivals area at Luxembourg Airport. Average fee of a taxi fare (only approximate prices): Airport to Kirchberg: 30 €, Airport to City Centre: 35 €.

Public transportBus and train tickets cost 2€ and are valid for 2 hours. Tickets may be purchased at automatic machines situated next to most bus stops.

Airport – City Centre – Railway StationBus No 16 connects the airport to the City Centre and Railway Station. It runs every 10 minutes from Monday to Friday and every 20-30 minutes on evenings and weekends. The bus stop is located directly outside the arrivals hall at Luxembourg Airport.

City Centre – Railway Station – Hotel DoubleTreeBus No 5 connects the City Centre and the Railway Station to the Hotel (Bus stop “Dommeldange-Parc de l’Europe”). It runs every 20 minutes.

Railway Station – Meeting venue “Neimënster”Bus No 23 connects the Railway Station to “Neimënster “(Bus stop “Grund-Stadtgronn-Bréck”). It runs every 30 minutes.
