8th Annual
Winner of a MetLife Award for Global Innovation
JA You’re Hired! prepares high school students to be successful in the work world by helping them develop critical business skills such as interviewing techniques, resume writing, conflict resolution, problem solving and interpersonal communications. Ten in-class lessons prepare students for an exciting, day-long workplace skills challenge featuring individual and group competitions and workshops. More than 400 business volunteers will participate in the event as judges, networking members, workshop facilitators, award ceremony emcees, internship hosts and mentors.
PROGRAM GOALS Help students develop and practice skills such as resume writing, ethical decision making, and networking so they
can succeed in the global job market.
Enable students to hone their writing, language, math, and critical thinking skills in a relevant context.
Show the relevance of classroom learning to real-life experiences.
Provide students with meaningful work experience.
Engage members of the business community as equal partners in preparing youth for the workplace.
Introduce students to an online educational experience through supplemental lessons.
Take advantage of this unique opportunity to directly impact the lives of Arizona’s students! Promote the skills, behaviors and values that contribute to workplace success.
Role-model positive attitudes and characteristics by serving as a classroom volunteer to deliver the lessons.
