When we ask what time it is in Spanish, we say

En punto literally means “on the dot,” and is used to stress that an exact hour is being expressed, with no minutes before or after.

AM/PM phrases: Use these phrases when a specific time is mentioned:

AM (12-12) de la mañana

PM (12-5/6) de la tarde

PM (5/6-12) de la noche

To refer to a general time of day, use the following phrases:

In the morning por la mañana

In the afternoon por la tarde

In the evening/At night por la noche

To express a general time TODAY

This morning esta mañana

This afternoon esta tarde

This evening/Tonight esta noche

For times 12:31-1:30:
