The unit simply connects via two wires to a free extension port allowing the intercom panel to call any other extension or hunt group. When a button is pressed on the intercom panel, the relevant extension(s) will ring and once answered will allow a two way conversation and the opening of the door by pressing 9 on the telephone keypad. The Art. 275 can connect directly to a one call button intercom panel or with the use of the Art. 275-10 interface, an intercom with up to 10 call buttons can be connected. A special version Art. 275/2W is available to be used with VX2200 digital system (in this case you cannot use the Art. 275-10). OPERATION To answer a call, from the ringing extension, pick up the handset. • During the conversation: » Press ‘9’ to open the door; » Press ‘0’ or hang up the handset to end the call. To make a call to the intercom panel without first being called, pick up one of the extensions and dial the extension number which is connected to the Art. 275. The Art. 275 will answer the call and enable the functions described above. PROGRAMMING Follow these steps to enter programming mode: 1. Remove the Jumper “SEL” from the Art. 275 2. From any extension using a tone dial telephone, dial the extension of the Art. 275 and wait for confirmation tone; You are now in programming mode, remember after programming to replace the jumper SEL. To store the extension telephone number to call on a one button system without the use of the Art. 275-10 expander Using the following syntax and the telephone keypad, type 11 followed by the extension number to call: 11+“Extension Number” For example if “810” is the extension number to call, type “11810” . The “Extension number” can be up to 16 digits. Insert “*” to introduce a 1.5 seconds pause in the dialing. If the switchboard supports hunt groups entering the hunt group number will call all extension in that hunt group. Press the “#” button to confirm the new settings and await a confirmation tone. To store the extension telephone numbers to call on a 1-10 button system using the Art. 275-10 expander Up to 10 call buttons can be programmed when using the Art. 275-10. Each button can will relate to one extension number to call (it cannot be used with Art. 275/2W). Use the following syntax to store the extension numbers for each call button: 1+n+“Extension Number” Where “1” is the command and“n” is call button number 1-9,0 (n=1=P1, n=2=P2 ... n=0=P10). The “Extension number” can be up to 16 digits. Insert “*” to introduce a 1.5 seconds pause in the dialing. For example if the extension number is 813 and the button to call this extension is 2, enter the sequence “12813”. Press the “#” button to confirm the new settings and await a confirmation tone. To set the operating “Mode” : (default 0) This is required to detect the line tones. • Enter 2 + 0 for default configuration, 2 + 1 for UK configuration. Press the “#” button to confirm the new settings and await a confirmation tone. To set the “Door Open Time”: (default 0) The door open time can be from 2-45 seconds. • Dial 3 + n where n=0: Time=2sec, n=1: Time=5sec, n=2: Time=10sec ... n=9: Time=45sec. Press the “#” button to confirm the new settings and await a confirmation tone. To set the “Conversation Time”: (default 3) The conversation time can be from 10-90 seconds. • Dial 4 + n where n=1: Time=10sec, n=2: Time=20sec, n=3: Time=30sec,... n=9: Time=90sec. Press the “#” button to confirm the new settings and await a confirmation tone.

To set the “Call Delay Time”: (default 0)To be used only when there is an intercom telephone in parallel with the Art. 275. Set the delay time to allow a call to be answered by the intercom telephone and only call the PABX extension if that call is not answered within the set delay time.• Dial 5 + n where n=0: Time=3sec, n=1: Time=7sec, n=2: Time=11sec,... n=9: Time=39sec.• Press the “#” button to confirm the new settings and await a confirmation tone.

After completing the settings above it is important to follow these steps to store the new settings.3. Hang up the telephone handset from which you have called the Art. 275;4. Disconnect the power supply from the Art. 275;5. Fit the jumper “SEL” then reconnect the power supply to the Art. 275.

Jumper settings:S1, in right position = Not usedS1, in left position = Outdoor Station 4+1 audio systemS2, in right position = Call tone with negative waveform - use with Art. 275-10S2, in left position = Call tone with positive or 12Vac waveform

Important Note:The Art. 275 interface must always be powered from it’s own power supply, this power supply (Art. 321, Art. 322, Art. 522) should not be used for anything else. (see included wiring diagrams from more information).
