    About Silk Route Training and Research Organization

    The Silk Route Training and Research Organization (SRTRO) is a local non-governmental organization

    formed by a group of Afghan professionals to influence policies, evaluate programs, and increase thecapacity of professionals in the country. SRTRO is a fast growing organization established in October

    2010 for promoting informed decision making. It has partnered with and is working collaboratively with

    the Royal Tropical Institute registered in the Netherlands, and other reputable non-governmental

    organizations in Afghanistan.

    Job Summary

    Develop course material (to include syllabi, reading assignments, homework assignments, other

    graded events, etc.) based on learning objectives.

    Prepare course lesson plans in accordance with job description, syllabus, and learning objectives.

    Teach in accordance with course syllabus and learning objectives.

    Assess accomplishment of course learning objectives and prepare an end-of-course binder.

    Prepare, administer, grade, and assess examinations and other course graded material.

    Be available to cadets for additional instruction outside the classroom as required by the department

    head.

    Catalog existing materials and supplies.

    Assist the department head in the acquisition of new materials and supplies by providing a list of

    necessary items--for example textbooks, lab materials, etc.

    Assist department head in planning for long-range course curriculum.

    Attend and participate in faculty development instruction and programs.

    Must follow Company rules and regulations

    Administer quizzes and exams. The instructor shall safeguard and secure all testing materials and shall

    have all quizzes, tests, or other necessary materials available prior to the start of the testing period;

    normally one test and answer sheet for each student.

    Remain in the classroom the entire time when tests and quizzes are being administered minimizing the

    possibilities for cadets to cheat. The instructor shall ensure that the spacing of cadets is such to minimize

    the opportunity to cheat. The instructor shall report any cadet caught for cheating immediately to the

    department head for disciplinary actions.

    Submit a weekly student attendance report to the department head on the last day of every week

    when school is in session.

    Provide semester grades to the department head 1 week after the semester ends.

    Translate course material from English to Dari for respective courses if required.

    Duties and Resposibilities

    The post holder is expected to carry out the following duties:

    Management

    Create lesson plans for the Bachelors program

    Administer exams and grade student papers taking responsibility for classroom management,

    including maintaining student records

    Preparing daily interactive lessons, administrating and grading student work and exams Promptly and fully reporting and documenting all work activities

    Performing other duties as assigned by department head

    Evaluation / Reporting

    Grading tests and exams and preparing student progress reports

    Regular, comprehensive assessment woven through all subject elements to ensure that students are

    fully clearified and understood

    Qualification

    Must have at-least bachelors university degree

    Masters degree or above is preferred

    Must be able to write, read and speak local languages and English

    Must be familiar with all kinds of teaching methodology

    Must be able to make lesson plan, teaching work plan and other required teaching materials
