The Definition of RPA

Recognition of Prior Achievement (APA) or formerly known as the Accreditation of Prior

Achievement is a method to give recognition to any individual who can demonstrate

skills outlined in the National Occupational Skills Standards (NOSS) based on prior

experience and achievements.

The Malaysian Skills Certification Programme was first introduced on 13 September 1996

to acknowledge the contribution of skilled workers in the country. It emphasises the

concept of life-long learning and this process can help individuals to evaluate and

develop the learning they have acquired through formal and informal means.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This is a 1 + 1 day training program for participants who are:-

Malaysian citizens,

Aged at least 18 years old and above,

Experience in automotive field for at least 4 years,

Completed the Online eLearning Self-Assessment Test,

Attend and PASSED the MRC Estimating & Repair Methodology program.

This course will help you to apply for the Registration for Prior Approval (RPA) and guide

you to take the test in the eLearning Self-Assessment. The advantage of this program, is

that it is a Special Assessment to qualify you for the Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) PPT

Penilaian Khas Level 3 SKM as a Single-Tier, fast track for those working in the industry.

This certification takes 1 of training and another 1 day interview for participants who

qualify, to get SKM Level 3 Certificate.

Application Flow set by JPK:-

Applicants will have to :-

i. Attempt the e-learning module and pass the online self-assessment.

ii. Attend the 3-day estimating training organized by MRC Malaysia and pass the

theory & practical exams.

iii. Compile competency profile throughout the training to record achievements.

iv. Register with JPK and attend the JPK Panel interview.

Achieve JPK minimum requirements:

Those who attended & passed the 3-day MRC Estimating & Repair Methodology

course.

Those who will be attending the 3-day MRC Estimating & Repair Methodology course,

and who wish to get the national SKM Level 3 certification.
