MS/HS PTA PRESIDENT’S CORNER

Here it is the end of the first quarter. Congratulations to our fall sports teams and their seasons. The fall concerts so far, even though in the gym, were still quite enjoyable. The plan is to have the auditorium ready for the Fall Play. I’d like to thank the parents who helped out at the Homecoming dance with concessions and coat/shoe room! The AfterProm committee is hard at work. They have an “Easter Seals Fill the Truck” fundraiser the week-end of the Halloween. A great time for all of us to clean out and others to benefit from it. See the flyer enclosed. PTA’s main fundraiser is manning the concession stand at the boys’ basketball game, come join in the fun! We do share the profits with the Junior class toward their prom activities. Junior student and parent participation is strongly encouraged. Contact to volunteer: Sue Dunn [email protected]. Sign up genius will be available in the near future. Our next meeting is Tuesday, Nov 10 at 7 pm in the cafeteria at the high school. All are welcome!

FAIRVIEW PARK MUSIC ASSOCIATION (FPMA) NEWS:

In this day of crazy headlines, there ARE good people in this world, and the FPMA would like to tell you about an extraordinary person that came into the lives of the Fairview High School Marching Band. Mr. Cibulskas received an unususal phone call after performing at the Rocky

River football game in September from a grandparent of a Rocky River student (who wishes to remain anonymous). He was very impressed with their musical ability, hard work and enthusiasm. To express his appreciation he graciously offered to purchase dinner for the band. And, boy, did he ever! The entire Fairview Marching Band and Drill Team were treated to a formal sit down meal at the “Behind The Woods” private dining room. The students enjoyed a delicious prime rib dinner together with this generous benefactor. And the surprise generosity did not stop there. At the end of the meal, the gentleman apologized to the students that the room size that evening was not able to accommodate the parents too. He proceeded to give out gift cards to each student for their parents to come back and enjoy a meal at the Woods! Mr. C and the students were overwhelmed and so thankful for this gentleman’s generosity. What a wonderful example this man is to our children of pure human kindness with nothing expected in return. On behalf of the students, we thank you dear anonymous benefactor!
