Tee it Up for Troops donations

Tee it Up for Troopsmade a significantdonation to theSemper Fi Fund forthe benefit of theNavy Medical SurfClinic that occursevery Thursdaymorning at Del MarBeach. Pictured areDel Mar resident andvolunteer Bob Burke,

The Balboa Warrior Athlete Program(BWAI) is a therapeutic programdesigned to restore, remediate and rehabilitate injured, ill, or wounded servicemembers level of function and independence in life activities.

As part of the program, the Surf Therapy program, established in 2008, calledthe NMCSD Surf Clinic, provides local military traumatic injury victims with anenvironment and means in which they engage in physical activities they enjoyand which challenge them physically, mentally, and emotionally. The clinicincludes vestbular instruction, water safety, swimming, paddling and waveriding improving balance, muscular strength, and aerobic endurance. Theprogram has been a tremendous success and includes those service peoplesfamilies and veterans as well.
