1. 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product? Ruby Millard
2. 2. Communication During the filming and other projects during media studies I have used twitter to contact people to arrange things, ask questions and discuss things that we needed to do. I have used email for being in contact with who Im working with and sending files to myself and who I am working with. Me and my group text each other for arranging things and used imessage. My group also used phones to arrange filming and to speak about post production.
3. 3. Research I think that I used the search engine Goole most through our whole project. It links mostly into our initial research tasks. I also used Youtube a lot to watch examples of film noir and OTS. I used Vimeo to watch other students OTS for inspiration and to get an idea of what my group needed to create. I also used it to upload our OTS and continuity task. Whilst looking at props and costumes we used pintrest to gather an idea of what we wanted our OTS to look like.
4. 4. Record of production For the whole project I have recorded my work in blog form on the website blogger. I hadnt really blogged before so it has been a learning experience. We recorded the progress of our film by uploading cuts to Vimeo. I have used wix to answer and present the questions for my final evaluation. I used Prezi to present my answers to questions. Through my project I created different slideshows on different subjects. I used Slide share to up load them to the internet which allowed me to put them onto my blog and evaluation.
5. 5. Software We started off editing our video on imovie but felt during the process that it was not refined enough and that a new software may allow us to do more. We then moved onto final cut as it gave us a lot more freedom to what we wanted to do and we found it simpler to use. I used Photoshop to crop pictures. The largest part that I used for it was the creation of the Black Country title edit with inverting. I used software on my laptop to record the records that I got for the OTS.
6. 6. Software My partner created animations for our idents with an app called stop motion. It was simple and was really effective for what we wanted to achieve. For our Cog Winder animation we recorded the sound of the cogs with the Voice memo app on an iphone. We used this as it was easily compatible with the Apple computer which were using. I used windows Power Point most to create slideshows to upload to my blog.
7. 7. Equipment My partner filmed some of the OTS with her camera but I used mine which is an Olympus epl 1. Its better for photography but it gave us some really clear shots. We used a tripod to steady our shots and make sure that our framing was inline with the ground. We used a Apple computer for the editing and construction of our videos. We used windows software for all of the written work including office.
