Lines of research:
• The new architectures of GPU-type computers are being used more andmore in experiments, especially in problems related to physics analysis or inprocesses that need to be carried out very quickly.
• The Multicore processors have also managed to substitute a high percentageof the mono-core with very good results.
• Hadoop is consolidated as a software environment that is compatible withdistributed applications and the management of large amounts of data. Thefeatures it provides in the LHC experiments will mark the way forward withrespect to the use of relational database management systems that are moreconventional.
• Another progress is being made in the methodologies applied to physicsanalysis: the techniques from Machine Learning have gained more areas ofapplication.
Develop a device to monitor and characterize the radioactive waste in containers

Activities: develop radiation detectors to monitor the gamma from radioactive waste.
