It’s from the

Sahara

it's hard to imagine what it's

like

What a nice picture!

It has to be hard to live

there!

How do they do to make money?

I have no clue

I suggest to help them with some

ideas For

example?

I don´t know we can create a

club

I think that’s not

a good idea

With all that space we can

make a waterpark

That’s insane, there is not

enough water!

An amusement

park?

It’s too hot, Keep

thinking!!

So we know there are a lot of space

and high temperature, do

we have anything else?

We have a large amount of sand and a lot of hours of sunshine

I think we have to focus on the

hours of sunshine

What do you have in mind?

I think I get it! we can create a

Solar power farm!

I think It’s an

awesome idea!

But do you think any investor would

like to spend money on it?

I was thinking to focus on the native people.

What do you

mean?Every native who is interested can invest his money and buy as many solar panels as

they want.Doing that we can create a

huge solar power farm!

And they can sell the

electricity or use it for self-

sufficiency

Let’s go to work

on it!

Introduction

• The Sahara, "The Great Desert", are names for the same big thing: the world's largest hot desert and second largest desert.

• It has over 4.6 mill square kilometres and an extremely dry and hot climate, the average annual temperature is 86°F (30°C) but during the hottest months temperatures can exceed 122°F (50°C).

• The solar plant we are proposing to build would use that incredible source of energy.

Reasons for choosing Sahara

SaharaDesert

conditions

• In the sahara desert the sunlight is very intense, much more than Europe

• A solar photovoltaic panel in the sahara will produce 3 times more electricity compared with same panel in Europe

• High photovoltaic energy performance

MauritaniaCountry

selected to build solar

plant

• Mauritania is the country in the Sahara selected to develop our idea.

• 20% of the people of Mauritania is living with less than US$ 1.25 per day.

• Mauritania nowadays has stable politics and has attracted worldwide investors for its marine and mineral resources.

• Initially, our solar plant would be situated near the city of Atar (25K inhabitants) where water resources has been recently discovered. Based on this discovery, the population of the city is expected to grow and, therefore, the energy requirements of the population would rocket in the near future.

Business Model

Internationalinvestors

• International would assume most of the investment needed to accomplish the deployment of the solar farm

• They would obtain profit from the energy generated by the solar plant

• Long range guaranteed profitability

Localcommunities

• Population of the area where the solar plant is going to be built would benefit form it in one or both or the following manners:

working in the solar plant in exchange of an electrical installation in their homes plus electricity to run their basic electrical devices (TV for example)

becoming minor investors of the solar plant. Part of the investment to be accomplished in the solar plant could be done by families that would access to a micro-credit thanks to our partnership with sustainable banks.

Microcredits business model

Local families funding

• Small loans to poor borrowers.

• Designed to boost entrepreneurship, increase incomes and alleviate poverty.

• Already an extended and successful model in developing countries.

Soalr micro credit

characteristics

• New concept for microcredit as the timeframe needed for the solar plant is much larger than traditional micro credits that usually are oriented to very short term (weeks or months)

• Micro credits would be guaranteed from the energy produced by the solar plant and the utility company that operates the plant is in charge of paying interests of micro credits on behalf of local families.

With this solar plant, each family in the Sahara area

selected could

invest in solar panels, as a cooperative

community, and they could get their own

FREE ENERGY to improve their quality of lives helping

small towns to gain momentum.
