• Mean prevalence of depression in Pakistan is 33%• Women living in post-conflict areas are at a higher risk• Untreated maternal depression has child health,
economic and trans-generational impact
• THP is a cognitive behavior therapy based intervention for maternal depression, delivered by non-specialists, with proven impact on maternal depression
• THP is being considered by the WHO for global dissemination through its mhGAP programme
Thinking Healthy Program (THP)
A major challenge in the scale-up of THP intervention, especially where health systems are weak, is providing
quality training and supervision at scale.
Stakeholder Engagement• The Lady Health Workers Program Pakistan and Provincial
Health Department will be kept engaged through a concrete engagement plan
• Scoping for potential Partner for a future Transition to scale grant
Screening for Maternal Depression viaInteractive Voice Response (IVR)
We aim to meet the challenge of scaling up of evidence based Thinking Healthy Program (THP) for maternal
depression by providing technology based solutions for training and supervision.

Evaluation through a feasibility trial (CRCT)
• To develop Technology Assisted Cascade Training and Supervision (TACTS) for Thinking Healthy Programme (THP) addressing maternal depression
• To evaluate the feasibility of TACTS through a feasibility trial in Swat
