What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this project?

Online Blogging

• Used to upload all our research and planning information so we could share this with the rest of our group and teachers.

• We were able to upload videos, pictures, presentations and texts to show what work we had been doing towards our production.

• I was able to follow blogs my teachers had made to help with work and give examples to follow

• Following members of my groups was helpful as I could see what they had done and find out what was on our schedule for that week.

iMovie

• This was used for all the editing of our preliminary tasks and final tasks.

• I also used iMovie to create a short video for my groups evaluation blogs on audience feedback.

• In iMovie you can cut clips and add credits and music to make videos more interesting. I was also able to add transitions to my clips to make them smoother or help create the effect I wanted.

Cameras

Still image cameras:

• As a group we used these to take still photographs of our chosen location and upload them to our blog.

Video camcorders:

• We first used these to film out preliminary task to practice the handling of them and get used to how they worked.

• They were used for all of the filming of our final production.

Apple Mac webcams

• We used these to film our audience feedback videos for our evaluation blogs.

Evaluation

From constructing this project I have learnt a lot about new technologies. I hadn't used an Apple Mac computer for editing before so this was a first. We were able to muck around on iMovie a couple of times first before we actually had to start to our final film. This helped work out how to cut clips properly, extract audio, add songs, add titles and use different transitions.

Having used still cameras and camcorders before I was pretty aware of using these technologies but doing the preliminary task helped us to get used to them.

I have also never used a blog before, but after this project I am now very confident in using them. I can now easily upload videos from YouTube, add pictures and text straight onto my blog, add links and also upload presentations and documents from slide share.
