Technology 1: Prezi Presentation

The first question was “In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?” I will be using a well common technology in order to present the answers given from the question based on analysing my final version of short film, in this case, our film is called ‘Karma.’

The technology is called ‘Prezi’ as it provides a wide range of themes and design that will appear creative yet appealing towards target audiences in order to engage them to read on. Also, the user interface is easy and simple to use as mostly anyone is able to use it sensibly as it is straightforward, after having to sign in and making an account.

The use of having different designs and themes for Prezi is fun and exciting as I am able to choose a particular theme of horror/thriller based of themes in order to include it onto my evaluation so the type of theme of the Prezi presentation would be able to link to the genre of our short film; for example, being able to choose a blood/gory themed of design on Prezi so it works well with the genre of the short film, horror/thriller.

In addition, the use of Prezi enables me to create thousands of presentation that would provide a lot of features including, adding images, text boxes, different font styles and sizes, heading font styles and many more. This would be able to help me create an effective use of technology whilst answering the first question for the evaluation task.

Technology 2: Tumblr Website

I will be using another technology for the same previous question because I wanted to use a unique yet professional technology in order to engage the readers in more. Tumblr is one of the top social media network in our generation today as it is a “micro blogging platform”. Users are able to follow other users’ blogs as well as making their own blog in private. And it is a website that contains common features like dashboard interface and being able to post either a photo set or gifs. Tumblr is very common for teenagers.

I will be able to create our own Tumblr page for our short film and call it, karmashortfilm.tumblr.com as teenagers would be able to take notice and gain a bigger target audiences then, this would be able to increase the number of views as well as fans if they like the short film that I have produced with my group.

Technology 3: A video (blog)

The third technology that I will be using is a video blog. A video blog is something unusual yet creative and interactive towards a set of your own target audiences. It gives a sense of production by using a voice recorder over a video using ADOBE Premiere Pro or any editing related software.

I have decided to use a video (blog) for the third question from the evaluation task as it reads, “What have you learned from your audience feedback?”.

In this case, I wanted to take various screenshot from our pre-production focus group video feedback from our target audiences, which was 16 year olds and above, which we have used our class mates feedback since they are well suited for the age group for our target audiences; they are 17 years old so it was perfect.

Also, I will be taking a short brief video of feedback by some people around my college that are in the same age group as our target audiences; being able to ask them what their thoughts are based on our final posters/film reviews and so on.

As well as, I will be mentioning some of the comments that we have received on YouTube, a video sharing website that can reach a wider target audiences around the world. I would be able to talk about some criticism as well as positive complements about our final version of our short film, poster and film review and how I can improve my production skills in the future.

Technology 3: SoundCloud

In addition, I will be using sound cloud to upload my voice over based on question 3 as I will be talking about feedbacks that I have gained based on my video as well as print products.

This is an online audio distribution platform that enables its users to upload, record, promote and share their originally-created sounds.

All I need to do was record my voice over using GarageBand from my MAC laptop and exported it as file (.mp3) data file in order for me to upload it on SoundCloud so a wider range of audiences can get access to it and listen, wherever they are.

Technology 4: SpiderScribe

For the final question, it reads, “How did media technologies in the construction and research, planning and evaluation stages?” In this section, I will be evaluating the skills that I have developed in camera, moving still image, editing and print production as a whole.

I have decided to use SpiderScribe as it is simple yet productive website which allows you to brainstorm ideas/take notes in depth. It is not limited as you can easily get work done quickly by having a straightforward user interface.

I will be able to add appropriate images in order to link to my notes and text boxes in order to make it appealing and clear at the same time. I also have to structure it well so the topics that I will be talking about would not get mixed up as this will only confuse the readers/target audiences. However, the images are only limited as you need to upgrade and pay if you want to add more images so I am only able to show a few evidence images to backup my points.

As for the font colour, types and sizes- I will only be using two different types of font styles and using the colour black and red which would be able to link to our original colour scheme for our final products and film reviews so it would look like the three media outlets in one.
