ARCING CLASS CRITERIA SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
LINK TOCM PAGE
A
Tested Parameters
Ue = 415 V
Ip arc = 63 kA
tarc = 100 ms
Correctly secured doors and covers do not open and remain effectively in place and provide a minimum level of protection in accordance with the requirements of IP1X of IEC 60529. Defor-mations are accepted. Some breakage of a limited number of fastenings and hinges is acceptable. The ASSEMBLY does not need to comply with its IP code after the test.
Note 1: The objective of criterion 1 is to minimize the risk of severe injury to persons by impact from doors, covers etc. and ensure a minimum level of protection of persons against accidental contact with hazardous live parts.
Techno Module BasicMetal lock for arc containmentChimney for arc containmentArc fi lterArc fi lter separation plate
Note 4: Applicable for all forms of separation.Note 5: At least one chimney per busbar section/cable chamber
1:75 - 1:78
No parts of the ASSEMBLY are ejected which have a mass of more than 60 g except those which are dislodged and fall between the ASSEMBLY and the indicators.
Note 2: The objective of this criterion is to minimize the risk of severe injury to persons by impact of ejected parts.
Satisfi ed N/A
Arcing does not cause holes to develop in the external parts of the enclosure below 2 m, at the sides declared to be accessible as a result of burning.
Note 3: The objective of this criterion is to minimize the risk of severe injury to persons by direct burning from the arc.
Standard doors and covers1:151:35
The indicators do not ignite (indicators ignited as a result of paint or stickers burning is excluded from this assessment). Satisfi ed N/A
The protective circuit for accessible part of the enclosure is still effective in accordance with IEC 61439-2. Satisfi ed N/A
B
The ASSEMBLY is capable of confi ning the arc to the defi ned area where it was initiated, and there is no propagation of the arc to other areas within the ASSEMBLY. Effects of hot gases and sooting to adjacent units other than the unit under test are accept-able, as long as only cleaning is necessary.
Covered by class C
C
Tested Parameters
Ue = 415 V
Ip arc = 65 kA
tarc = 100 ms
After clearing of the fault or after isolation or disassembly of the affected functional units in the defi ned area, emergency opera-tion of the remaining ASSEMBLY is possible. This is verifi ed by a dielectric test according to IEC 61439-2:2011, 10.9.2, but with a test voltage of 1.5 times the rated operational voltage for 1 min. Bending or bowing of doors and covers of the unit under test and adjacent units is acceptable providing it can be readily restored to a minimum level of protection in accordance with IPXXB of IEC 60529. With the exception of the tested zone as declared by the manufacturer, all other units should remain fully operable both mechanically and electrically and are essentially in the same condition as before the test.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE INTERLOCK MECHANISM OF THE PLUG & POWER FULLY WITHDRAWABLE UNIT
Parts of the interlock mechanism. Connect the two sheet metal parts using two screws and washers.
Attach the bracket to the interlock rail with screws and washers.
Insert the lock rod into the interlock rail and bend the "fl aps"(top and side fl aps) of the interlock rail.
Insert the breaker rod through the bracket and secure to the breaker. Attach the threaded fl exible arm to the lock rod. The short pin must be inserted in the lock rod.
Attach the tightening block to the breaker rod as shown. The tightening block must align with the threaded fl exible arm.

HOW TO ASSEMBLE INTERLOCK MECHANISM OF THE PLUG & POWER FULLY WITHDRAWABLE UNIT
Latest version available at: www.elsteel.com
- There is a very good animation on www.elsteel.com under our login section that shows exactly how to do this if you need more details.
Attach the threaded fl exible arm to the tightening block as shown.Make sure the pin is in the middle of the threaded part of the fl exible arm.
Remove cir-clip of the shorter pin and take out the bended interlock rod. Cut at the mark. Make sure to chamfer (atleast 2mm) the end of the rod.
Put the bended interlock rod back into the interlock rail and secure it with the cir-clip.
Turn the rotary handle to the ON position. Make a mark on the bended interlock rod approximately 5-7mm from the edge.
Now bend the rest of the "lock rod guiding fl aps" (top & side fl aps)as needed for smooth operation of interlock mechanism.
