About school

Technical School of Leather Design has existed and operated for more than sixty years as a school specialized for fashion design and craftsmanship of clothing, footwear and leather accessories, but as a school institution it was established much earlier. The school was founded by the educated women of Belgrade, as the first women’s occupational school in Serbia.

There are two different educational programs

– in the field of Leather Fashion Design and in the field of Environmental Protection.

The pupils of Technical School of Leather Design are primarily engaged with fashion design, specialized for leather modeling. They learn drawing, painting, history and the theory of design, the preparation of design drawings and other skills unavoidable in fashion design processes.

Pupils transform their artistic creations in cutting patterns in their construction and modeling classes, and therefore, in practical classes their creations are transformed into finite and wearable leather products. Due to a school practice, the artistic creations of pupils are exposed at the exhibitions and fashion shows.

Environmental Protection Technician is a new course, introduced in the curriculum in 2012. The subjects of the study in the basic course are prevention in environmental protection, revitalization of renewable resources and sustainable development goals. Predominated sciences are chemistry and ecology and most of the teaching is performed in the school laboratory, as well as in the institutions in which their knowledge is applicable.
