Technical Note: NPV Scheduler Family Release 4.27 Reference: TN00203

1. NEW FUNCTIONALITIES
Release 4.27 introduces several new functionalities.
1.1. Ability to generate pit with minimum bottom width
Smooth pits are essential for generating practical pushbacks. The new option will remove
the narrow bottoms of the ultimate LG pit. The nested LG phases generated inside the
smooth pit will not be adjusted and will contain narrow bottoms.
1.2. Bench Progress report for MAO/MFO/FMS pits
The new report is similar to the Incremental Report by Pushback. It shows the number of
benches and rock mass for each pushback in each period.

1.3. Cycle Time check
The Parameters tab in MAO Haulage Information dialog allows to validate all haulage inputs
before computing the truck hours. Users can select a particular block by entering its
coordinates, its pushback, rock type, and destination. The tool will calculate and show EFH
for each haulage segment and the cycle time for one return trip.
1.4. Save/Load report templates from a file
Report options can be quite cumbersome to define. Once set they can be re-used between
different Economic Model case studies and between different projects as long as they have
the same rock type labels and processing method labels. Users can save and load one
report file for each report category.

2. IMPROVEMENTS
Release 4.27 introduces several improvements to existing functionalities.
2.1. Completely re-designed Pushback Generator
Datamine has funded a research project with Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal that allowed re-
designing the existing pushback algorithm. The options allow smoothing the final pit or keeping
it unchanged. The new controls allow merging smaller disjointed pits to preceding pushbacks
and re-calculating the UP-OES after generating each pushback.
The legacy algorithm is also available.
2.2. Obstacle cost defined in a file when scheduling imported pushbacks
Obstacle cost boundaries defined in the Ultimate Pit settings dialog are automatically assigned
to the corresponding pushback bench when scheduling imported pushbacks. In all previous
version users had to manually match the costs to each pushback in Capital Costs dialog and
the costs were not related to the corresponding bench. There is no change in the UI.
