DATE AND PLACE OF THE COMPETITION The Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics competition at the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018, will take place on July 20, 21, 22, 23 and 24, 2018 at Puerta de Oro Center in the city of Barranquilla.

COMPETITION FORMATThe competitions at the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games, Barranquilla 2018 will take place as per Regulations of CACSO, the Technical Regulations of the Pan American Gymnastics Union and the Regulations of the International Gymnastics Federation.
COMPETITION I: QUALIFYING FOR COMPETITION II AND III AND TEAM QUALIFICATION.
Countries bring teams of 5 gymnasts to the event. 4 of those five participate on each apparatus and the 3 highest scores are counted towards the score on the apparatus
• A maximum of 2 gymnasts per NOC qualify for Competition II, provided they have competed on all 4 (WAG) or 6 (MAG) apparatuses. Should a score tie-breaker be necessary, the tie-breaker system established by FIG shall be applied. Should the tie continue, all the gymnasts involved will qualify.
• A maximum of 2 gymnasts per NOC qualify for Competition III. Should a score tie-breaker be necessary, the tie-breaker system established by FIG/UPAG. Should the tie continue, all the gymnasts involved will qualify.

• There is no tie-breaker in the case of a tie in the final Team results.
The competition will take place in 2 subdivisions. Competing teams will be assigned to each of the 4 (WAG) or 6 (MAG) apparatus according to draw held during the Technical Meeting of Delegates. COMPETITION II: GENERAL INDIVIDUAL QUALIFYING
The best 24 gymnasts who qualified in Competition I compete, with a maximum of 2 gymnasts per NOC. Final results are calculated by adding up the scores on all 4 (WAG) o 6 (MAG) apparatuses.
There will not be a tie-breaker, should a tie occur in the final result.
Competition order will be determined as established in FIG Technical Regulations.
The top 8 gymnasts qualified from Competition I will compete on each apparatus, with a maximum of 2 gymnasts per NOC.
There will not be a tie-breaker, should a tie occur in the final result.
Competition order will be determined by a draw during the Technical Meeting of Delegates.
GENERAL RULES OF THE COMPETITIONAGE OF COMPETITORS
Athletes must have the minimum required age at December 31, 2018.
• WAG: At least 16 years of age (born in 2002 or earlier)• MAG: At least 18 years of age (born in 2000 or earlier)
MAXIMUM NUMBER OF COMPETITORSIn accordance with the quota established by CACSO, Artistic Gymnastics will have a maximum of eighty-two (82) athletes: forty-one (41) in women´s gymnastics and forty-one (41) in men’s gymnastics.
Each NOC may enter a maximum of ten (10) athletes, five women and five men, provided they meet the qualifying criteria established by UPAG for the Artistic Gymnastics competition of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018.

COMPETITION SCHEDULE
ELIGIBILITYTo participate in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018, athletes must comply with the provisions of the Central American and Caribbean Games Regulations, the rules of UPAG and the rules of the International Gymnastics Federation. In addition, they shall have been entered by their NOC as set forth in Chapter XI of CACSO Statutes.
ENTRIESOnly NOCs recognized by CACSO, which National Federations are members of the International Gymnastics Federation and the Pan American Gymnastics Union, may enter to take part in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018. Associated Members recognized by CACSO may also participate in the XXIII Central American and Caribbean

All countries through their respective NOC, must submit their Sports Entry Request using the official form, to the Organizing Committee by 24:00 hours (Colombian time) on February 20, 2018. The form must state the sports in which the NOC will participate. Forms that will be published in the official WEB site “Barranquilla 2018”.
ENTRY BY NUMBERThe Entry by Number forms, which state the number of participants in each individual and team event, shall be delivered to the Organizing Committee of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018 no later than midnight (Barranquilla, Colombia time) on April 20, as established in CACSO Regulations, Chapter VIII.

Each NOC must submit their Entry by Number and Entry by Name on the official forms provided by the Organizing Committee and which shall be mailed out 6 months prior to the games.

MINIMUM PARTICIPATIONFor an event to be considered official at least five (5) representations must participate from the same number of National Olympic Committees. In the event one or more representations, after the Technical Meeting takes place, is unable to participate due to force majeure (verified by CACSO), the event will take place with a minimum of four (4) representations from equal number of National Olympic Committees.
GENERAL RULESThe competitions of the XXIII Central American and Caribbean Games Barranquilla 2018 will be held in accordance with CACSO Statutes and the corresponding Regulations of the International Federation in force at the

a) Cases of a general nature will be resolved in accordance to CASCO Statutes and the Regulations of the Central American and Caribbean Games.b) Cases of a technical nature will be resolved following the procedures of the Pan American Gymnastics Union.
TECHNICAL MEETING The technical meeting will take place on July 19, 2018 at 10:00h at the Puerta de Oro Convention Center in the city of Barranquilla. • Up to two representatives from each NOC may attend this technical meeting. • The Technical Delegate and the Competition Manager will chair the meeting. • Judges may not take part in this meeting.
TECHNICAL OFFICIALSTechnical personnel (President and Members of the Superior Jury shall be comprised by the members of the WAG and MAG technical committees of UPAG. Judges are required as per UPAG rules and regulations. Should additional judges be required, neutral judges will be invited until the required number of judges is completed. The Competition Manager will be appointed by the Colombian Federation of Gymnastics.
JURY OF APPEALSDecisions on technical appeals at the Central American and Caribbean Games lie son a jury appointed to such end. The Jury of Appeals consists of up to three (3) persons that will appointed by the Executive Committee of UPAG. Decisions by this jury are cannot be appealed.
DRAWThe draw will be manual or electronic during the Technical Meeting. The draw will take place in the presence of the respective Technical Delegate and President of the Superior Jury.

UNIFORMS AND SPORTING EQUIPMENTThe Regulation of the Central American and Caribbean Games and the International Gymnastics Federation must be respected, as well as Chapter 5, Rule 51 of the IOC where is set forth the rules for NOCs regarding the use of Registered Trademarks by manufacturers as to the regulatory measures for the use of apparel, sporting equipment, as well as for all types of accessories used during the Games. Sporting equipment that will be used during the competitions shall have a valid FIG certification.
MEDAL CEREMONY Medal ceremonies will take place in accordance with Chapter XIII of CASCO regulations.
INDIVIDUAL EVENTS:
• First place: Gold medal and diploma
• Second place: Silver medal and diploma
• Third place: Bronze medal and diploma
TEAM EVENTS:
• First place: A gold medal and a diploma for each of the athletes.
• Second place: A silver medal and a diploma for each of the athletes.
• Third place: A bronze medal and a diploma for each of the athletes.
DOPING CONTROLDoping control shall be performed following the provisions of CACSO Medical Commission and FIG Regulations in accordance with the standards and current version of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) procedures.
VENUEThe Women’s and Men’s Artistic Gymnastics competitions will take place at the Puerta de Oro Convention Center in the city of Barranquilla. Podium rehearsal will also take place at these facilities.
