Prairie Girls Racing (PGR) and Devon Bicycle Association (DBA) have

teamed up to provide a Fat Bike Race Series. The DBA Blizzard Bike Race

February 21, 2015 and PGR Snow Rager Part 1 February 22, 2015 will be

an epic double header weekend for snow dogs that can’t get enough riding

and racing. To cap off the season we invite everyone to Panorama

Mountain Resort March 28, 2015 for Snow Rager Part 2 and championship

event. The race dates and details are as follows:

#1 DBA - Blizzard Bike Race (Double Header Weekend)

#2 PGR - Snow Rager pt.1 (Double Header Weekend)

Sunridge Ski Hill February 22, 2015

Thanks to expert help from EMBA, we have organized a great 5km track

throughout the Strathcona Science Provincial Park. Comprised of gravel

path, a few short paved paths and excellent single track, this trail is perfect

for first time and experienced racers! Sign on at the Sunridge Ski Hill lodge

and head down to the Strathcona Science Park for the race. $5.00 of every

race fee will be donated to EMBA from this event to support building and

maintaining single-track in the North Saskatchewan River Valley.

Schedule:

8:30 am: Sign-on opens

10:30 am: Sign-on closes

11:00 am: Open Men start

11:05 am: Open Women start

11:10 am: Chilly Riders start

1:30 pm: Award Ceremonies & Draw Prizes

Race Categories:

Open Women - 15 km (3 laps)

Open Men - 15 km (3 laps)

Chill Racers - Geared towards first time racers - 5km (1 lap)

Driving Directions:

Strathcona Science Park / Sunridge Ski Area is located just south of the

Yellowhead Trail (use exit 398) in East Edmonton. The property is

accessible from 17th Street.

FROM WEST (JASPER, HINTON, EDMONTON)

- Travel east on Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16).

- Use exit 398.

- Turn right (west) on 116 Avenue.

- Turn left (south) on 17 Street.

- Travel 750 metres and turn right into Sunridge Ski Area.

FROM SOUTH (CALGARY, EDMONTON)

- Travel north on QE2 Highway (Gateway Boulevard).

- Exit onto Anthony Henday Drive East.

- Use 101 Street (Baseline Road) exit.

- Turn left (west) on 101 Street (Baseline Road).

- Turn right (north) on 17 Street.

- Travel 2.4 km and turn left into Sunridge Ski Area.

FROM EAST (LLOYDMINSTER, SHERWOOD PARK)

- Travel west on Yellowhead Trail (Highway 16).

- Use exit 398.

- Turn left (south) on Hayter Road/17 Street.

- Travel 1.1 km and turn right into Sunridge Ski Area

Race Fees:

$30.00 race fee for Sunridge and $30.00 race fee for Panorama.

Both race fees can be paid at Sunridge for $55.00. No refunds.

Rules and Regulations:

PGR is proud to work with the ABA and DBA on this race series. To ensure

consistency between the series we are proud to host our race series with

ABA. As per ABA regulations, while all bikes are permitted, studded tires

are not.

All participants must hold a valid ABA membership for the Sunridge

and DBA Blizzard bike race. General Memberships can be purchased

online at http://www.albertabicycle.ab.ca/ for $40.00. General Membership

is valid for the 2015 season for all club events and rides.

Day licenses will be issued at Snow Rager pt.2 (Panorama Mountain

Village).
