GAS EFFECT

Gas reservoir identification – gas presence highlighted by bright amplitudes.

Detailed dynamic simulation model for a multi-stage hydraulically fractured horizontal well.

3D reservoir modelling for field development.

Advisory services › Worldwide: 10 CPRs delivered in 12

months (May 2014 – April 2015 inc.) › Several Dutch and UK operators: reserve

certification services.

Field development › Cameroon: Xodus supported the appraisal

of a set of offshore gas condensate discoveries. We created reservoir models, defined uncertainty ranges and identified appraisal well locations to reduce subsurface uncertainty to levels required for the final investment decision

› Kurdistan: We defined development strategies to sustainably double existing production and developed models to justify the development of discovered and prospective gas resources in parallel with existing oil development

› Nigeria: As part of a FDP, a gas utilisation scoping study was executed to end flaring. Pipeline export was selected after a careful review of all options; small scale Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG), gas-to-liquids to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and gas-to-power.

Consultancy › North Sea, Dutch sector: Xodus

carried out an investigation of possible connectivity between shallow gas fields using a regional dynamic model. We provided history matching of producing fields, and a sensitivity study of influencing parameters on a pressure response of neighbouring fields. Our client managed to progress the subsurface studies and pursue further development

› North Sea, UK sector: Our client needed a better understanding of a tight gas-condensate chalk reservoir (HP / HT) due to insufficient results obtained during initial well test activities – notably, low hydrocarbon rates in clean-up phases raising uncertainties over fluid type (volatile oil or heavy gas condensate) and precise reservoir pressure. Xodus assessed the commercial viability of the field, with our personnel providing full operational support during drilling and well testing activities. We delivered crucial information regarding the reservoir’s true productivity, long-term field performance, hydrocarbon fluid characteristics and reservoir pressure as a result of our hands-on approach. We advised on optimal production enhancement techniques including the design of a multi-stage fracked horizontal well in a high cost environment (HP / HT).
