1.1 Construction The fire alarm system is developed as a modular system. The individual modules are connected by an internal bus and a common voltage supply (24V). All modules, with exception of the main- and repeater panels are intended for the mounting rail assembly. The main- and repeater panel are design for recess mounting into a desk panel. These single modules are built together in a metal switchgear cabinet. The system can be design alternatively for the wall mounting or for recessed mounting when using the main panel as an external unit to fit directly into the panel. The modular structure and the bus system are identical to the existing fire alarm system FMS3000. Likewise some modules are used by the FMS-3000 invariably and some modules modified in the AFMS-3000. For AFMS-3000 necessary new modules has the same design as the FMS-3000 and wise on same places also the same details up. (E.g. relay outputs at the modules are implemented with the same relays and the same terminal connection) The system is organized according to the master slave principle. That means that a master module gets Information from the slave modules, the information on evaluates and administers and actions the slave modules releases. In the AFMS-3000 the graphic display module functions as master. This is direct with a data module (not over the general bus system) connected, which stores on a SD-memory card data and this makes available. A SFMS-3000 (smoke detection system) and/or OFMS-3000 (Local protection system) attached to the AFMS-3000 in the AFMS-3000 as a slave module one administers in each case. At the SFMS-3000 or OFMS-3000 attached modules are administered by these. I.e. for these modules the fan module is and with the OFMS-3000 the power pack module of the masters.

1.2 Data storing Configuration data, the menu texts, the fire and fault messages are on a SD-memory card in Text files stored. The SD-memory card is equipped with a FAT16-filesystem. The data up the SD-card can be worked on thus with usual PC hard and software. The text files with configuration data and menu text it is developed in such a way with the fact that it effectively from Microsoft Excel tables to be produced can. Thus it is possible, the data with general office often commodity to provide and work on. On the SD-map during the mechanism determined files are written by means of a PC. Other files are produced during operation and/or changed by the AFMS-3000. Also these data are present in the title format, so that they can be evaluated for documentation purposes or to the error tracing with a PC. When starting of the AFMS-3000 configuration data will transfer to the individual modules. In the modules, which with small data sets run (e.g. modules, which are assigned also in the FMS-3000), these data in the RAM of the appropriate module are stored. These data must again be transferred thus with each initialization. Modules, which administer other modules (loop module for addressable alarm units, with the SFMS3000 the fan module and with the OFMS-3000 the power supply module), need even extensive initialization data for their slaves. These data are stored in the appropriate modules in the internal EEPROM and do not have again to be transferred in such a way by the master not with each initialization.

1.3 Fire- and Fault- detection If a fire and/or a fault alarm at a slave module arise, this message is received from the master. This lets the data module an appropriate entry in a file produce, the information for the appropriate message, as well as the time of the occurrence contains. At the same time in an index file a reference is set to the appropriate entry. When accepting the fire or fault alarm the status of the entry is changed and from the old index file the reference deleted, as well as in the next index file a reference set. With the RESET of the fire or fault alarm the status of the entry is again changed and resets from the preceding index file the reference, as well as set in the next index file a reference. At the same time over the bus system the RESET is transferred to the appropriate module. The entries with the information to messages remain thereby, it change only for that status. With the call e.g. over the menu at the diagram display the messages are then indicated, for which a reference in the appropriate index file exists. The system produces max. 20 files with 100 messages each, so that up to 2000 messages can be stored. If this number is reached, the first file overwritten etc.

2.5 Fire-alarm module AFM01-E (Addressable) Drawing S 3818, S 3819, S 3820, S3821 General Inputs for up to 2 addressable fire detection lines with total maximum 254 Hochiki detectors. 8 Pot. free outputs max of 500 mA. Expandable up to 4 modules (8 loops) Voltage Supply 24V input voltage will be connected over a polarity protection diode, a coil and filter capacitors by means of a step UP of automatic controller brought on 37V. This voltage serves for the supply of the loops. In order to protect the current of the loops and the earth fault the 37V will be able to supervise loop voltage on a fed back DC/DC transducer led. These transducer supplies 5V related to the 37V loop voltage for the logic, the operation amplifiers and that Micro CONTROLLER. A negative supply of -5V is generated directly from the VCC supply. The digital mass of the circuit lies on the 37V-supply. Thus the absolute voltage of the logic part for the -5V- supply with 32V and for the 5V-supply with 42V. That RS485 drivers and the associated circuit are supplied from 24V supply via a step down automatic controller with 5V. RS485-Driver Communication is made by a RS485-driver module. The driver is electrically isolated from the micro CONTROLLER. Micro CONTROLLER 1 takes over direct communication with the RS485-Bus and filters for the fire detection module. The message is submitted by the SPI Interface to the micro controller. This sends its status back on reverse way again. The update of the firmware over the communication interface is accomplished with micro CONTROLLER 2 via a RS232 change over switches, which is steered by the first CONTROLLER. The two status Led’s on the module indicates the status of the RS485 to interface: Green LED: Status of the module is queried by the master Red LED: Communication problem or timeout, in addition earth fault error. Maximum numbers of detectors It is possible to connect up to 127 addressable Hochiki ESP detectors on each loop. Please take care of the requirement from the classification society with accept lower quantity of detectors into one loop and the requirement of additional short circuit isolators when passing different fire zones.

Fire detection loops Terminals JLN and JNP The two detection loops consist in each case of two equivalent pairs of connections (drive, return) to these the three-core ring circuit are connected. By this ring circuit the supply of the Hochiki modules is made. All active Hochiki modules lie parallel on the ring circuit to each other. The detection loops are supervising cable break, earth fault and short-circuit; therefore the energized line and the ground wire are individually disconnected by the micro CONTROLLER. In order for a safe starting of the Hochiki modules to ensure the outputs can be started over soft start of the supply. The loops are equipped to the data communication with the modules with a modulator and a demodulator in each case. Open-Collector-Output Terminals JAN and JAP The fire detection module contains 8 relay outputs as normally open contact. Every 4 normally open contacts have one common connection. The outputs can be switched into dependence of the loops as well as the conditions of the Hochiki modules. Each normally open contact is protected via a polyfuse with 60V and 0,5A against over current. The conditions of the relay exits are indicated over the red Led’s.

2.8 AHT01-E Main Panel Graphic Generally The Main Panel Graphic is intended for the control and operation of the AFMS-3000 fire alarm system. The integration into the system takes place identically to the small main panel HT01-E. The control of the AFMS-3000 can be done by the HT01-E and by the AHT01-E which is more comfortable to operate. The AHT01-E consist of 2 micro controllers RS485-Communikation Communication is made by a RS485-Driver module. Micro CONTROLLER 1 takes over direct communication with the RS485-Bus and works on the messages. Connection data module Communication is made by a RS232-Driver module. Likewise over the plug the operating voltage is supplied to the data module by 5V. Display As display a matrix display of point of LCD with a resolution of 320x240 pixels is used. This is attached to the motherboard and operated directly by the micro CONTROLLER 1. Over further hardware components it is possible for the micro CONTROLLER 1 to steer contrast and brightness of the background lighting. LED and keys The LEDs are developed together with the keys on the keyboard plate. This becomes by that Microcontroller 2 operated. The connection to the micro CONTROLLER 1 (motherboard) is realized over an I2CBus. Micro CONTROLLER 1 is for this communication of the masters. Micro controller 1 sends the conditions of the LED to the micro controller 2 and fetches the key conditions. Dimming, flashing and the operation of the Buzzers are steered by the micro controller 2. Buzzer The buzzer is switched over a driver transistor and over a haven line of the micro CONTROLLER. For an external buzzer a 24V interface is intended. Connection Mimic module Communication is made by a RS485-Driver module. The interface is isolated. The connection to the Mimic module takes place independently of the remaining FMS bus.

2.9 DT01-E Data Module

Generally The data module is intended for the storage of configuration data and the data of the AFMS3000 on a SD-memory card. In addition the module contains its own micro CONTROLLER, which guarantees a reading and/or a writing of the SD-memory card independently from the other system. The integration into the system takes place at a special interface on the backside of the Main Panel AHT01-E

Voltage supply The 5V for supply of the micro controller receives the module over the interface. From this supply 3,3V for the supply of the SD-memory card are produced internally. Connectors Communication is made by a RS232-Driver module. Likewise over the plug the operating voltage is supplied to the data module by 5V. LED At the back of the module three status Led’s are present, which operating conditions indicate.

SD-Memory card slot At the back of the module an admission for a SD-memory card is present. This engages after pushing in the admission. To withdrawal is with short pressure on those to unlock memory card.

2.10 Main Panel HT01-E (Repeater Panel) Drawing S 3466 General The AFMS-3000 can be observed and operated also from the repeater panel (selectable). The connection of maximally 2 repeater panels in up to 500 meters distance is possible. The repeater panel contains one LC display (2 lines to ever 20 letters), 10 keys, 40 LED´s and a buzzer for acoustic signalling. In order to be able to adapt the LED´s optimally to the locally dominant lighting conditions, the intensity is adjustable. The adjustment of the contrast and the background lighting is just as flexible in the case of the display.

Display The display is controlled via 8-bits data bus as well as over R-S, RW and E (Clock) by the micro CONTROLLER. LEDs The LED´s are divided in two groups (alarm and normal). The groups are independent of each other in the brightness dimmable. But two PWM voltage regulator made of RC element with following transistor switching are used. Two LED´s in the group "alarm" are in each case switched one behind the other. Because in the group "normal" also individual LED´s are headed for, it is necessary to operate also two LED´s parallel in order to achieve an even brightness over the dimming range. Buttons The button lines are over pull up resistances on digitally high. With pressed key the line is drawn on digitally 0. Buzzer The buzzer is switched over a driver transistor and over a high line of the micro CONTROLLER. For an external Buzzer a 24V interface is intended.

5.3 Sensor and Base Installation instructions Introduction The analogue Sensors ALG-E, ACB-E and ACA-E can all use a Common Mounting Base (YBN-R/3) which is electronics free, the Sounder Base (CHQ-BS) and the Short Circuit Isolator Base (YBO-R/SCI). Follow the guidelines below before installation and maintenance. Deckma cannot guarantee a sensor's performance if these guidelines are not followed. Caution The ASX range sensors cannot be used to prevent fire itself, they are only intended to detect a certain characteristic of fire. The sensor ACB-E and ACA-E (Heat mode only) are used to detect conditions and changes in temperature and cannot detect smoke and other phenomena. When installing the sensor, check that the location of each one has been planned according to appropriate fire regulations or recommendations. Please note that the ACA-E Multi-Sensor default mode is optical/heat, if this sensor is to be programmed to change modes i.e.: optical to heat then the ACA-E should be spaced as a standard Heat Sensor. The sensor and base combination should be installed to the following guidelines:

- Ensure the Sensor and Base is installed in accordance with Local Standards or Regulations.

- Sensor and Base combinations should only be installed where ambient temperatures are between -10°C to +50°C and where the condensation and moisture levels are between 10% to 95% RH - Non condensing (at 40°C) .

- Only install in suitable environments, the following should be avoided. - Situations in which condensation exists. - Situations in which corrosive gases exist. - Situations in which dust or steam exists. - Situations in which obstacles exist, which could impede air flow to the sensor. - Hazardous areas.

Do not use a high voltage tester on the Sensor or Base.

Certain actions can cause permanent damage to the sensor. If the sensor is subjected to any of the following it should not be used:

- Dis-assembly and re-assembly. - Impact or shock. - Touching the thermistor (ATG-E, ATG-E(NP) Heat sensors and ACA-E Multi-Sensor

only).

If damage is suspected after a fire has occurred, the sensor should be replaced. After installation, all sensors on the fire alarm system should be tested to confirm correct operation. Installation and maintenance should only be carried out by suitably trained engineers. Sensor operation should not be tested with a naked flame or open fire. Operation should only be checked by equipment that is capable of exceeding the required detection threshold.

The sensor must be subject to periodic maintenance during regular service visits. This period should be outlined in the appropriate standards or recommendations. If there are no such standards existing, we recommend that the minimum period of maintenance should be 1 year and that the following should be taken into account:

- A regular operation test should be performed. - A visual check for staining and mechanical damage should be made.

A dust cover is included with the sensor to prevent contamination during installation. The dust cover must be removed for the sensor to operate.

Operation - Address Setting

- Locate the Sensor onto the programmer ensuring the 3 locating pins line up with the

grooves in the programmer.

- Press the left (grey) key to switch the programmer on, a battery check message will be

displayed followed by the address of the Sensor fitted (previously un-programmed Sensors

will read 127).

- Select the required address by incrementing the programmer display (Ieft grey key, 10's,

right grey key, units). Whilst the display is showing an address different to that stored in the

Sensor, 3 dots will also flash.

- Once the wanted address is displayed press the upper (red) key to store the address in the

Sensor. Once the address is correctly stored the 3 dots will cease to flash and the display

6.0 Start-up of the “ AFMS-3000 “

In the following one the start-up of the fire alarm system “AFMS-3000” is described. The AFMS-3000 consists of 6 different modules, which are fastened on a DIN rail. Two modules (display and loop module) can be used several times in the plant. With these modules is to be paid attention to the correct selection of the node number.

6.1 Adjusting of the node numbers: All loop modules FM01-E have an entrance to a turning switching on the right side of the housing. The node number is to be adjusted for the first module to 0. The second module receives the number 1 and third the 2. The repeater panel PT01-E can be likewise several times in the plant present. For the assignment of a node number a bridge must be put in the Sub D 15 socked. Node number 8 main Panel no bridge Node number 9 repeater panel 1 bridge between pin 6 and pin 14 Node number 10 repeater panel 2 bridge between pin 7 and pin 15 Additional does have to be set to the last panel in each case in the RS485-Bus a terminal resistance (120 ohms). This resistance is activated by a bridge between the pin 12 and 4. In the case of only one display this bridge is to be also set! Once if several identical node numbers are present in a RS485 net, it comes to heavy communication disturbances. A trouble free operation of the plant is not possible any longer.

6.2 End of line resistors For the addressable loop modules no end of line resistor is required because the line of the last detector on the loop module is guided back. All conventional detector loops and 24V DC outputs must be terminated with 3 KOhm resistors.

6.3 Use of the module/components: For the setting up of a fire alarm system only the components approved from the classes (GL/LR) may be used (and directly something similar). Beside the approved 7,2 AH batteries may be used batteries up to 12 AH (if case of application this permits). It is only permitted to use the Hochiki ESP detector´s according EN54.. on the AFMS 3000.

6.4 Organization of the software-Versions: It is to be paid attention which the different modules are installed only with identical software-Versions in a plant (Delivery status). In order to mix different software version please contact the manufacturer.

6.5 Schedule for the commissioning In order to reduce the workload on the commissioning all loops are disabled when shipped. Step 1 Reconnect all the detectors and outputs. Step 2 Check the cables to ground fault, short circuit, reverse polarity and voltages. Step 3 Turning on the AFMS and check the overall condition. Step 4 One by one switch on and check the Fire detection loops. (See 4.14) Step 5 Checking the outputs and additional panels or other peripheral devices.

7.0 Maintenance of, AFMS-3000 ' 7.1 Review of Fire Detectors The fire alarm must be checked at yearly intervals on its functionality. Contaminated and defective detectors are immediately exchanged. Dirty smoke and multi-sensors to generate the time of app. 1 hour above the maximum allowable pollution degrees, set a pre-alarm. Defective or missing fire alarms generate an fault alarm. 7.2 Review or change the internal batteries. The average lifetime of the internal backup battery is at an ambient temperature 25 ° C at about 4-5 years. These are then exchanged. The average lifetime of the lithium battery for data backup type CR 2023 is at an ambient temperature of 25 ° C at about 10 years. These are then exchanged. Leg exchange of lithium battery is important to ensure that the system is necessarily supported by at least one power supply.
