IMPLEMENTING MOBILE DEVICES

Objectives:

To consider the issues surrounding implementation of mobile devices regularly in your classroom

To compare and contrast various mobile devices

To explore a variety of (mostly iOS – but some work on other devices) applications to support instructional goals

To connect technology – instructional goals – district goals.

To develop 21st century skills:-collaboration tools-communication tools

To increase productivity/reduce paper-tools that make mundane tasks easier

TECHNOLOGY TRIALS – IT’S NEW TO ALL OF US!

• It’s not going to work like you expected the first time around unless you give it a trial run.

• Lots of perseverance and motivation needed to stick with it

• There is additional “cognitive load” when using technology at first.

• Need procedures in place to keep equipment charged, working, and safe & secure.
