  • Dear Todd, Well with a question like that you got the old firehead think-ing, Like what is with you ? You have too much time on your hands coming up with a question like that. Get in the pool and swim some more. Go biking. Have some fun now that its off season. Im solving some real triathlon issues like how to get my car window to have a full scale Team Psych rear window decal like yours. I dont really know why you go through so much but I can tell you how most folks do.

    1. Butt Action: Try not to fill your entire palm full of the stuff before you wipe it where all the action is occurring. 2. All over Action: Yeah you heard me, anywhere there is motion you can put this stuff. From your twisting neck to anywhere clothes chafe squeeze this stuff. 3. Hair Dressing: Yeah this is really the stuff that will give you that GQ look heading into transition. 4. Shoe Glide: Dont you hate losing those valuable seconds struggling to get your feet into shoes into transition? 5. Playground slides: On a hot day don't let your kids get burned squeaking down a hot dry playground slide. Wipe this stuff all over it and get out of the way as they are sure to get a few extra feet further than before. Do Not use : 1. Unfair Advantage: Yeah, when your age group competition is not looking put a cou-ple of handfuls of this stuff on the bike seat. Its a good laugh as your nemissis slides off onto the rear wheel. 2. Personal Lubrication: Lets not even go there. Besides this is not recommended for internal use. 3. Chain: While exceptionally high in silicone, the contents state water base and I sus-pect this may result in high rust risk. 4. Prior to Restroom Use: I had so much diffiuculty getting my clothes off and on again I was unable to open the portajohn door. Whats worse is I was late for my wave start. 5. Disqualification: Putting tubes of Chamois Butter in your race belt and sqeezing on the run course so you competition slips and cannot catch you is not a two minute pen-alty. Sincerely, EL Fuego

  • Dear Todd, May I recommend you add a laser hair re-moval package to your Christmas list? Just checking.. If you are ok in that department the lets move on to other possible culprits. Originally chamois but-ter was meant for leather chamois to keep it conditioned. I think it is safe to assume your chamois is made of a synthetic mate-rial as opposed to leather- thank God for fabric technology advances! . My next question is to address bike fitting, particu-larly the seat tilt and height. If its too high it could cause more rocking of the hips which means unnecessary chafing. Al-though I dont think there is such a thing as necessary chafing. Ok anywayA proper bike fitting can make all the difference in your comfort level. The next stop would be saddle choice. I not only recommend the ISM saddle not because it is one of Team Pyschs sponsors but because I happen to ride one and think it is the best. Of course there are many others out there and you will have to keep trying one until your butt is happy. Last stop would be the type of shorts you are wearing. Ones with an unusual shaped chamois or weird seems can cause a lot of friction between your skin and the chamois causing saddle sores. In that case, I recommend ei-ther changing the shorts or make sure you put the butter on your skin in the places you need it most. If you slop too much on your shorts it will likely seep through and make your saddle more like a slip n slide. Not pretty. Look for a pair of shorts with very plain seams with not a lot of shape to them- keep it simple. A lot of padding does not always translate into comfort. Bike specific shorts (as opposed to tri specific) tend to have more shape and padding. Make sure you try out all the options and take care of that sensitive bootie tissue.

  • This is a fun slightly rolling ride. It doesn't matter if you are an A or B rider, as there are riders at various speeds, including yours. Ride dis-tance is 20-35 miles. Its up and back, cant get lost. Come meet other members. Learn skills. You have all the time to ride by your-self, but it isn't ever going to make you go faster or longer than you already are Directions: Take Suncoast north to County Line Road exit , make a left going west 1/4 mile, turn right on Anderson=Snow Road, proceed north approximately one mile and park in the ballfields parking lot. .
