Cancer Ride Background

Evraz has been a presenting sponsor the last couple of years

This year I was asked to represent the Calgary site on the Evraz Team for the Conquer

Cancer Ride. The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer presented by Evraz is a two day

ride over 200 KM along the Canadian Rockies

In reflecting on this event personally there have been six family members and a good

friend of mine impacted by cancer. Cancer is a disease that impacts many of us

For the Calgary site, we created a team with six riders and four pit crew volunteers

During this EPIC cycling journey, we rode two days along the majestic Rockies

The mission is clear – a cancer free future

Collectively 1,402 riders raised $6.35 million

for the Alberta Cancer Foundation

The Ride to Conquer Cancer is an excellent event. It was a good

time with colleagues and friends for a great cause. I am glad I had

an opportunity to be part of the team. Thank you to everyone who

participated on the team and donated to my fundraising effort.

Without your support the personal growth I experienced during the

season and funding to fight cancer would not have been possible.
