Process For Applying For Open Positions
STEP 1 – POSTING OF THE OPEN POSITIONS
• The open position(s) at your school will be posted on the Human Resources Intranet Portal for eligible occasional teachers from the Long Term Occasional Teachers List to apply.
• The open position will be posted on the HR intranet portal for five (5) week days

• The open position will be posted on the HR intranet portal for five (5) week days
• Please note, only those occasional teacher on the Long Term Occasional Teachers List will have access to log in with their Board e-mail and password to view the available open positions via an On-Line posting application process

Dear Teacher A: Thank you for your application for the positions advertised. Your submission will be reviewed by the Human Resources Department based on the following criteria as per Regulation 274/12: (a) Have completed a long-term assignment in a school of the board that was at least four months long and in respect of which the teacher has not received an unsatisfactory evaluation; (b) Have the required qualifications for the position; (c) Have the highest ranking under section 2;(ranking of occasional teachers based on teacher’s seniority as an occasional teacher) (d) Have agreed to be interviewed If you meet the criteria as outlined in a-c, your name will be forwarded directly to the principals with the open positions you have selected. STEP 3 – Selection Process
• Upon receipt of your application for the open positions you have selected, Human Resources will review the names of those who have applied and determine those eligible for an interview based on the following criteria according to Regulation 274/12 (3)
a. Have completed a long-term assignment in a school of the board that was at least four months long and in respect of which the teacher has not received an unsatisfactory evaluation;

STEP 3 – Selection Process
• Human Resources will provide the 5 names of those occasional teachers on the Long Term Occasional Teachers List who have applied and meet the criteria in step 3 a-d and provide the names to the school principals
• Note: only the names of the 5 teachers who meet the criteria in step 3 a-d will be contacted for an interview, if you have not been contacted for an interview, this means that you did not meet the criteria as highlighted above.

• The principal of the school with the open positions will contact the occasional teachers directly for an interview
• Upon completion of the interview, the principal will advise Human Resources of the successful candidate for the open position

STEP 5 – Human Resources Follow-up
• Human Resources will then prepare the necessary documentation/contract that will be mailed to the successful candidate for completion and signing of documents
• Once you receive the documents, please review and sign where applicable and return the signed documents immediately in order that your file can be set up within a timely manner for the appropriate payroll date.

Click on LTO Teacher List link for a list of all educators on the LTO List (MOU Regulation)
