Design statement• To design a device which prevents toddlers from turning on the gas knob, that is easy

for parents to unlock and simple to use.• Target audience: 2-4 year old children

Prototype material Advantages: • Use of polypropylene• Resistant to heat, food and acids.• Cheap easy to produceDisadvantages:• not very resistant to UV light• Can decay over time

Final prototype design• Medicine cap design to stop children from opening• Use of blind rivets to anchor thread into hob or comes with thread installed by

the hob brand itself to facilitate the locking procedure. • For solid existing hobs, use of super glue is required for installation
