1 Description of the System

General TechnologySophisticated wireless data transfer device designed specifically by TCPS27 for the transfer of geomatic data between TCPS27 devices and RX1220.TCPS27S is designed for machine automation applications.

FrequencyOperates in the "2.4 GHz radio band". Using the latest in spread-spectrum, frequency hopping technology, ensures maximum security for the high speed, wire-less transfer of data.

Physical features HousingFully rubberised housing ensures that the TCPS27 is shock and rain proof.

TCPS27S has a non-rubberised die cast metal housing but is also shock and rain proof.

AntennaCompact, antenna ensures the highest quality RF performance.

As a pair TCPS27B and TCPS27R can be used directly as a wireless data connection with Leica Geosystems equipment and computers.

Configuration Baud rates of the TCPS27B and TCPS27R must be the same. Baud rates set in the TCPS27's must be equal to the serial connection rates. Link numbers in the TCPS27B and TCPS27R must be the same.

Connect the TCPS27S with a PWM sensor cable to the machine computer. When the standard TCPS27 is connected to the instrument, the green "LINK (PW)" LED lights up on both radio transmitters.The red "DATA" LED lights up as soon as data is being sent or received.

General principals To achieve ideal RF performance from the TCPS27 radios, the antennas should be aligned perpendicular to the line of sight between the antennas. This can be best achieved by using the tripod adapter GHT43.

3 Configuration

RX1200 Configuration of TCPS27B is possible with the configuration tool available in the RX1200.

Refer to "2 Operation" for information on how to connect the TCPS27 to the RX1200.

TCPS configura-tion tool for PC's

Permits the viewing and changing of settings in both the TCPS27R and TCPS27B. Leica default settings can be reset to both TCPS27R and TCPS27B radios. For more information about this tool, please read the help file accessible from within this tool.

Connecting a TCPS27R to the RX1200 and resetting Leica Geosystems default settings will disable the TCPS27R from communicating with a TCPS27B.

• External battery is charged. • The green link indicator is on at the

TCPS27B.

• The cable is properly connected between the TCPS27B, battery and the TPS1200.

• Check instrument is in RCS mode.

• RX1220 is set to work with the TPS1200.

• Link numbers between the two units is the same. Refer to "RX1200 User Manual".

• Reset Leica factory default settings to both the RX1220 and the TCPS27B and synchronise settings.

No communication link

TCPS27B and TCPS27R

• External batteries are charged.• The cable is properly connected

between the TCPS27B, battery and the TPS1200.

• The green link indicator is on at the TCPS27B and TCPS27R.

• Check that the baud rate set in the radios is equal to that of the serial baud rate.

• Link numbers between the two units are the same.

Range is not optimal

• Tripod adapter for TCPS27 is fitted to the tripod and oriented so that the antenna of the TCPS27 is vertical.

• Both antennas are approximately perpendicular to the line of sight between them.

• Minimal obstruction to a free line of sight between antennas.

• Environment of powerfull transmitters working within the same frequency band may cause disturbances.

• Avoid working with the same link setting as other users nearby.

5 Care and Transport

Transport Transport in a road vehicleNever carry the product loose in a road vehicle, as it can be affected by shock and vibration. Always carry the product in its transport container and secure it.ShippingWhen transporting the product by rail, air or sea, always use the complete original Leica Geosystems packaging, transport container and cardboard box, or its equiva-lent, to protect against shock and vibration.

Storage Respect the temperature limits when storing the equipment, particularly in summer if the equipment is inside a vehicle. Refer to "7 Technical Data" for information about temperature limits.

Cleaning and drying

Use only a clean, soft, lint-free cloth for cleaning. If necessary, moisten the cloth with water or pure alcohol. Do not use other liquids; these may attack the polymer components.Damp productsDry the product, the transport container, the foam inserts and the accessories at a temperature not greater than 40°C / 108°F and clean them. Do not repack until everything is completely dry.

6.1 General

Description The following directions should enable the person responsible for the product, and the person who actually uses the equipment, to anticipate and avoid operational hazards.

The person responsible for the product must ensure that all users understand these directions and adhere to them.


6.2 Intended Use

Permitted use • Remote control of surveying products.• Data transmission to external appliances.• Transmitting and receiving data.

Adverse use • Use of the product without instruction.• Use outside of the intended limits.• Disabling safety systems.• Removal of hazard notices.• Opening the product using tools, for example screwdriver, unless this is specifi-

cally permitted for certain functions.• Modification or conversion of the product.• Use after misappropriation.• Use of products with obviously recognizable damages or defects.• Use with accessories from other manufacturers without the prior explicit

approval of Leica Geosystems.• Inadequate safeguards at the surveying site, for example when measuring on

roads.


�Warning Adverse use can lead to injury, malfunction and damage. It is the task of the person responsible for the equipment to inform the user about hazards and how to counteract them. The product is not to be operated until the user has been instructed on how to work with it.


6.3 Limits of Use

Environment Suitable for use in an atmosphere appropriate for permanent human habitation: Not suitable for use in aggressive or explosive environments.

�Danger Local safety authorities and safety experts must be contacted before working in hazardous explosive areas, in close proximity to electrical installations or similar situ-ations by the person in charge of the product.


6.4 Responsibilities

Manufacturer of the product

Leica Geosystems AG, CH-9435 Heerbrugg, hereinafter referred to as Leica Geosystems, is responsible for supplying the product, including the user manual and original accessories, in a completely safe condition.

Manufacturers of non Leica Geosys-tems accessories

The manufacturers of non Leica Geosystems accessories for the product are responsible for developing, implementing and communicating safety concepts for their products, and are also responsible for the effectiveness of those safety concepts in combination with the Leica Geosystems product.

Person in charge of the product

The person in charge of the product has the following duties:• To understand the safety instructions of the product and the instructions in the

user manual.• To be familiar with local regulations relating to safety and accident prevention.• To inform Leica Geosystems immediately if the product and the application

becomes unsafe.• To ensure that the national laws, regulations and conditions for the operation of

radio transmitters are respected.


�Warning The person responsible for the product must ensure that it is used in accordance with the instructions. This person is also accountable for the training and the deploy-ment of personnel who use the product and for the safety of the equipment in use.


6.5 Hazards of Use

�Warning The absence of instruction, or the inadequate imparting of instruction, can lead to incorrect or adverse use, and can give rise to accidents with far-reaching human, material, financial and environmental consequences.Precautions:All users must follow the safety directions given by the manufacturer and the direc-tions of the person responsible for the product.

�Warning Inadequate securing of the surveying site can lead to dangerous situations, for example in traffic, on building sites, and at industrial installations.Precautions:Always ensure that the survey site is adequately secured. Adhere to the regulations governing safety and accident prevention and road traffic.

�Warning If computers intended for use indoors are used in the field there is a danger of elec-tric shock.Precautions:Adhere to the instructions given by the computer manufacturer with regard to field use in conjunction with Leica Geosystems products.


�Caution If the accessories used with the product are not properly secured and the product is subjected to mechanical shock, for example blows or falling, the product may be damaged or people may sustain injury.Precautions:When setting-up the product, make sure that the accessories, for example tripod, tribrach, connecting cables, are correctly adapted, fitted, secured, and locked in position. Avoid subjecting the product to mechanical stress.

�Warning If the product is improperly disposed of, the following can happen:• If polymer parts are burnt, poisonous gas are produced which may impair health.• If batteries are damaged or are heated strongly, they can explode and cause

poisoning, burning, corrosion or environmental contamination.• By disposing of the product irresponsibly you may enable unauthorized persons

to use it in contravention of the regulations, exposing themselves and third parties to the risk of severe injury and rendering the environment liable to contamination.

Precautions:Dispose of the product appropriately in accordance with the regulations in force in your country. Always prevent access to the product by unauthorized personnel.


6.6 Electromagnetic Compatibility EMC

Description The term Electromagnetic Compatability is taken to mean the capability of the product to function smoothly in an environment where electromagnetic radiation and electrostatic discharges are present, and without causing electromagnetic distur-bances to other equipment.

�Warning Electromagnetic radiation can cause disturbances in other equipment.

Although the product meets the strict regulations and standards which are in force in this respect, Leica Geosystems cannot completely exclude the possibility that other equipment may be disturbed.

�Caution There is a risk that disturbances may be caused in other equipment if the product is used in conjunction with accessories from other manufacturers, for example field computers, personal computers, non-standard cables or external batteries.Precautions:Use only the equipment and accessories recommended by Leica Geosystems. When combined with the product, they meet the strict requirements stipulated by the guidelines and standards. When using computers, pay attention to the information about electromagnetic compatibility provided by the manufacturer.


�Caution Disturbances caused by electromagnetic radiation can result in erroneous measure-ments.Although the product meets the strict regulations and standards which are in force in this respect, Leica Geosystems cannot completely exclude the possibility that the product may be disturbed by very intense electromagnetic radiation, for example, near radio transmitters, two-way radios or diesel generators.Precautions:Check the plausibility of results obtained under these conditions.

�Warning If the product is operated with connecting cables attached at only one of their two ends, for example external supply cables, interface cables, the permitted level of electromagnetic radiation may be exceeded and the correct functioning of other products may be impaired.Precautions:While the product is in use, connecting cables, for example product to external battery, product to computer, must be connected at both ends.


�Warning Electromagnetic radiation can cause disturbances in other equipment, in installa-tions, in medical devices, for example pacemakers or hearing aids and in aircraft. It can also affect humans and animals.Precautions:Although the product meets the strict regulations and standards which are in force in this respect, Leica Geosystems cannot completely exclude the possibility that other equipment may be disturbed or that humans or animals may be affected.

• Do not operate the product in the vicinity of filling stations or chemical installa-tions, or in other areas where an explosion hazard exists.

• Do not operate the product near to medical equipment.• Do not operate the product in aircraft.• Do not operate the product for long periods immediately next to your body.

1 Systembeschreibung

Allgemein TechnologieDas TCPS27 Datenmodem ist ein technisch ausgereiftes, kabelloses Datenübertra-gungsgerät speziell für den Datentransfer zwischen TCPS27 und RX1220.Das TCPS27S ist für die Anwendung in der Maschinensteuerung.

Frequenz:Die Einheit wird in einem Frequenzbereich von "2.4 GHz" betrieben. Die neueste Technologie (Spread Spectrum, Frequency Hopping Verfahren) gewährleistet eine gesicherte, schnelle, kabellosen Datenübertragung.

Setup TCPS27S

Als Paar TCPS27B und TCPS27R können sofort als kabellose Datenverbindung mit Leica Geosystems Ausrüstung und Computern verwendet werden.

Konfiguration Die Baudrate des TCPS27B und des TCPS27R müssen identisch sein. Die Baudrate des TCPS27 Funkmodems muss mit der seriellen Verbindungsrate iden-tisch sein.Die Paarnummern des TCPS27B und des TCPS27R müssen identisch sein.

TCPS27S mit einem PWM-Sensorkabel mit dem Maschinen Computer verbinden. Wenn das Standard TCPS27 am Instru-ment angeschlossen ist, muss an beiden Funkgeräten die grüne "LINK (PW)" LED leuchten.Die rote "DATA" LED leuchtet sobald Daten gesendet oder empfangen werden.

RX1200 Das TCPS27B kann mit dem Konfigurationstool der RX1200 konfiguriert werden.

Siehe "2 Bedienung" für Informationen zum Verbinden des TCPS27 mit einer RX1200.

TCPS Konfigurati-onstool für PC's

Die Einstellungen des TCPS27R und des TCPS27B können mit dem Konfigurati-onstool angezeigt und geändert werden. Die Leica Standardeinstellungen können am TCPS27R und TCPS27B Datenmodem wieder gesetzt werden. Für weitere Informationen zu diesem Tool lesen Sie bitte die Hilfedatei innerhalb des Tools.

Wird ein TCPS27R mit einer RX1200 verbunden und die Leica Geosy-stems Standardeinstellungen wieder gesetzt, dann wird eine Verbindung zwischen TCPS27R und TCPS27B getrennt.

• Der Stativadapter für das TCPS27 ist am Stativ angebracht und so ausge-richtet, dass die Antenne des TCPS27 vertikal ist.

• Beide Antennen sind annähernd rechtwinklig zur Ziellinie zwischen den Antennen.

• Keine Hindernisse in der Ziellinie zwischen den beiden Antennen.

• Starke Sender in der Umgebung, die im selben Frequenzbereich arbeiten, können Störungen verursachen.

• Vermeiden Sie das Arbeiten in der Nähe von anderen Anwender mit den selben Verbindungseinstellungen.

5 Wartung und Transport

Transport Transport im AutoDas Produkt darf niemals lose im Auto transportiert werden. Das Produkt kann durch Schläge und Vibrationen stark beeinträchtigt werden. Es muss daher immer im Transportbehälter transportiert und entsprechend gesichert werden.VersandVerwenden Sie beim Versand per Bahn, Flugzeug oder Schiff immer die komplette Leica Geosystems-Originalverpackung, Transportbehälter und Versandkarton, bzw. entsprechende Verpackungen. Die Verpackung sichert das Produkt gegen Schläge und Vibrationen.

Lagerung Lagertemperaturbereich bei der Lagerung Ihrer Ausrüstung beachten, speziell im Sommer, wenn Sie Ihre Ausrüstung im Fahrzeuginnenraum aufbewahren. Siehe auch "7 Technische Daten" für Informationen zum Lagertemperaturbereich.

Reinigen und Trocknen

Nur mit einem sauberen und weichen Lappen reinigen. Wenn nötig den Lappen mit Wasser oder reinem Alkohol etwas befeuchten. Keine anderen Flüssigkeiten verwenden, da diese die Kunststoffteile angreifen können.

Beschreibung Diese Hinweise sollen Betreiber und Benutzer in die Lage versetzen, allfällige Gebrauchsgefahren rechtzeitig zu erkennen, d.h. möglichst im Voraus zu vermeiden.

Der Betreiber hat sicherzustellen, dass alle Benutzer diese Hinweise verstehen und befolgen.


6.2 Verwendungszweck

• Fernbedienung von Vermessungsprodukten.• Datenübertragung zu externen Geräten.• Senden und Empfangen von Daten.

• Verwendung des Produktes ohne Instruktion.• Verwendung ausserhalb der Einsatzgrenzen.• Unwirksammachen von Sicherheitseinrichtungen.• Entfernen von Hinweis- oder Warnschildern.• Öffnen des Produktes mit Werkzeugen, z.B. Schraubenzieher, sofern nicht

Hersteller von Fremdzubehör für das Produkt sind verantwortlich für die Entwick-lung, Umsetzung und Kommunikation von Sicherheitskonzepten für ihre Produkte und deren Wirkung in Kombination mit dem Leica Geosystems Produkt.

Betreiber Für den Betreiber gelten folgende Pflichten:• Er versteht die Schutzinformationen auf dem Produkt und die Instruktionen in

der Gebrauchsanweisung.• Er kennt die ortsüblichen, betrieblichen Sicherheits- und Unfallverhütungsvor-

schriften.• Er benachrichtigt Leica Geosystems, sobald am Produkt und in dessen Anwen-

Markierung Ihres Messstandortes kann zu gefähr-lichen Situationen im Strassenverkehr, Baustellen, Industrieanlagen, ... führen.Gegenmassnahmen:Achten Sie immer auf ausreichende Absicherung Ihres Messstandortes. Beachten Sie die länderspezifischen gesetzlichen Sicherheits- und Unfallverhütungsvor-schriften und Strassenverkehrsverordnungen.

�Warnung Bei Verwendung von Computern, die nicht durch den Hersteller für den Einsatz im Feld zugelassen sind, kann es zu Gefährdungen durch einen elektrischen Schlag kommen.Gegenmassnahmen:Achten Sie auf die herstellerspezifischen Angaben für den Einsatz im Feld in der Systemanwendung mit dem Leica Geosystems Produkt.


�Vorsicht Bei nicht fachgerechter Anwendung des Produktes besteht die Möglichkeit, dass durch mechanische Einwirkungen, z.B. Sturz oder Schlag, nicht fachgerechter Adaption von Zubehör Ihr Produkt beschädigt, Schutzvorrichtungen unwirksam oder Personen gefährdet werden.Gegenmassnahmen:Achten Sie bei der Aufstellung Ihres Produktes darauf, dass das Zubehör, z.B. Stativ, Dreifuss, Verbindungskabel, fachgerecht adaptiert, montiert, fixiert und verriegelt ist. Schützen Sie Ihr Produkt vor mechanischen Einwirkungen.

Beschreibung Als Elektromagnetische Verträglichkeit bezeichnen wir die Fähigkeit der Produkte, in einem Umfeld mit elektromagnetischer Strahlung und elektrostatischer Entladung einwandfrei zu funktionieren, ohne elektromagnetische Störungen in anderen Geräten zu verursachen.

TechnologieIl s'agit d'un dispositif sophistiqué de transfert de données sans fil par le TCPS27, conçu spécialement pour le transfert de données géodésiques entre les radios TCPS27 et le RX1220.Le TCPS27S est conçu pour des applications d'automatisme.

Configuration Les vitesses de transfert du TCPS27B et du TCPS27R doivent être les mêmes. Les vitesses de transfert configurées dans le TCPS27 doivent être égales aux vitesses de communication séquentielles. Les numéros de canal du TCPS27B et du TCPS27R doivent être les mêmes.

Principes généraux

Ces configurations peuvent être visualisées et modifiées à l'aide de l'outil de configuration TCPS.

Pour obtenir une qualité optimale de fréquence radio de la part des radios du TCPS27, les antennes doivent être alignées perpendiculairement à la ligne de visée entre les antennes. Vous obtien-drez le meilleur résultat en utilisant l'adaptateur de trépied GHT43.

Outil de configura-tion TCPS pour les ordinateurs

Il permet de visualiser et modifier les paramètres dans le TCPS27R et le TCPS27B. Les paramètres par défaut de Leica peuvent être réinitialisés sur les radios du TCPS27R et du TCPS27B. Pour en savoir plus sur cet outil, veuillez lire le fichier d'aide fourni avec l'outil.

La plage n'est pas optimale

• L'adaptateur de trépied pour le TCPS27 est monté sur le trépied et orienté de façon à ce que l'antenne du TCPS27 soit verticale.

• Les deux antennes sont à peu près perpendiculaires à la ligne de visée se trouvant entre les antennes.

• Il faut un minimum d'obstacle pour offrir une ligne de visée dégagée entre les antennes.

• Un environnement comprenant des récepteurs puissants utilisant la même bande de fréquence peut engendrer des perturbations.

• Evitez de travailler avec un certain numéro de canal si les autres instru-ments l'utilisent déjà.

5 Entretien et stockage

Transport Transport dans un véhicule routierNe transportez jamais l'instrument dans un véhicule sans l'installer au préalable dans son coffret, car il pourrait s'abîmer gravement en raison des chocs et des vibra-tions. Utilisez toujours le coffret et fixez-le.ExpéditionPour tout transport par train, bateau, avion ou bateau, utilisez l'emballage intégral d'origine de Leica Geosystems composé du coffret de transport et du carton d'expé-dition ou équivalent. L'instrument sera ainsi protégé des chocs et vibrations.

Stockage Respectez les valeurs de limite de température en stockant l'équipement, particuliè-rement en été si l'équipement se trouve dans un véhicule. Reportez-vous au chapitre "7 Caractéristiques techniques" pour de plus amples informations sur les limites de température.

Nettoyage et séchage

Utilisez un chiffon propre et doux, sans peluche, pour le nettoyage. Si nécessaire, humidifiez légèrement le chiffon à l'aide d'eau ou d'alcool pur. N'utilisez pas d'autres liquides qui pourraient abîmer les composants en polymère.

Le propriétaire doit s'assurer que tous les utilisateurs comprennent et respectent les consignes qui suivent.


6.2 Utilisation prévue

Utilisation non conforme

• Utilisation de l'instrument sans instruction préalable.• Utilisation hors des limites d'application.• Désactivation des systèmes de sécurité.• Suppression des panneaux d'avertissement.• Ouverture de l'instrument à l'aide d'outils, comme par exemple un tournevis,

6.6 Compatibilité Electromagnétique (EMC)

Description Le terme Compatibilité Electromagnétique désigne la capacité de l'instrument à fonctionner impeccablement dans un environnement où règnent des rayonnements électromagnétiques et des décharges électrostatiques, et ceci sans interférer élec-tromagnétiquement avec d'autres instruments.

�Avertissement Un rayonnement électromagnétique peut interférer avec d'autres instruments.

Bien que l'instrument réponde rigoureusement aux normes et directives en vigueur, Leica Geosystems ne peut entièrement exclure la possibilité d'une éventuelle inter-férence avec d'autres instruments.

�Attention Un risque d'interférence demeure en utilisant des accessoires fabriqués par des tiers, comme par exemple les ordinateurs de terrain, PC, câbles non standard ou batteries externes.Mesure préventive:Utilisez l'équipement et les accessoires conseillés par Leica Geosystems. Instalación del TCPS27S

Como pareja TCPS27B y TCPS27R se pueden utilizar directamente como una conexión de datos sin cable con equipos de Leica Geosystems y ordenadores.

Configuración La velocidad de transmisión fijada en el TCPS27B y en el TCPS27R tiene que ser la misma. Las velocidades de transmisión fijadas en los TCPS27 han de ser iguales a las velocidades de la conexión en serie. Los canales en el TCPS27B y en el TCPS27R tienen que ser iguales.

Conectar el TCPS27S con un cable de sensor PWM al ordenador de la máquina. Cuando el TCPS27 estándar está conectado al instrumento, el diodo verde "LINK (PW)" se ilumina en los dos radiotransmisores.El diodo rojo "DATA" se ilumina cuando empieza el envío o la transmisión de datos.

Para lograr las mejores prestaciones de las radios TCPS27 las antenas se deben alinear perpendicularmente a la línea de la visual entre ellas. Eso se consigue muy bien utilizando el adaptador de trípode GHT43.

RX1200 La configuración del TCPS27B es posible con la herramienta de configuración disponible en el RX1200.

Consultar en "2 Operación" la información sobre el modo de conectar el TCPS27 al RX1200.

Herramienta de configuración del TCPS para PCs

Permite ver y cambiar los parámetros de configuración en los dos TCPS (TCPS27R y TCPS27B). Los parámetros predeterminados por Leica se pueden volver a fijar en ambas radios TCPS27R y TCPS27B. Para más información sobre esta herramienta lea el fichero de ayuda, accesible desde esta herramienta.

Al conectar un TCPS27R al RX1200 y restaurar la configuración prede-terminada por Leica Geosystems se inhabilita al TCPS27R para la comu-nicación con un TCPS27B.

El alcance no es óptimo

• El adaptador de trípode para el TCPS27 está fijado al trípode y orien-tado de modo que la antena del TCPS27 está en posición vertical.

• Ambas antenas son aproximada-mente perpendiculares a la línea entre ellas.

• Obstrucción mínima en la línea de la visual entre las antenas.

• La presencia de transmisores potentes trabajando en la misma banda de frecuencias puede causar perturbaciones.

• Evitar la utilización del mismo canal que otros usuarios que estén traba-jando en las proximidades.

5 Cuidados y transporte

Transporte Transporte en un vehículo por carreteraNo se debe transportar nunca el instrumento suelto en el vehículo ya que podría resultar dañado por golpes o vibraciones. Siempre ha de transportarse dentro de su maletín y bien asegurado.EnvíoPara transportar el producto en tren, avión o barco utilizar siempre el embalaje original de Leica Geosystems completo (maletín de transporte y caja de cartón) u otro embalaje adecuado, para proteger el instrumento frente a golpes y vibraciones.

Almacenamiento Observar los valores límite de temperatura para el almacenamiento del equipo, especialmente en verano si se transporta dentro de un vehículo. Consultar en "7 Datos Técnicos" la información sobre los límites de temperatura.

Limpieza y secado Limpiar únicamente con un paño limpio, suave y que no suelte pelusas. Si es nece-sario, humedecer un poco el paño con alcohol puro. No utilizar ningún otro líquido ya que podría dañar las piezas de plástico.

Instrucciones de seguridad TCPS27 6-2

6.1 General

Descripción Con estas instrucciones se trata de que el encargado del producto y la persona que lo está utilizando estén en condiciones de detectar a tiempo eventuales riesgos que se producen durante el uso, es decir, que a ser posible los eviten.

La persona responsable del producto deberá cerciorarse de que todos los usuarios entienden y cumplen estas instrucciones.


6.2 Utilización

Uso procedente • Control remoto de instrumentos topográficos.• Transmisión de datos a aplicaciones externas.• Transmitir y recibir datos.

Uso improcedente • Utilización del producto sin instrucción.• Uso fuera de los límites de aplicación.• Anulación de los dispositivos de seguridad.• Retirada de los rótulos de advertencia.• Abrir el producto utilizando herramientas (p.ej. destornilladores) salvo que esté

expresamente permitido en determinados casos.• Realización de modificaciones o transformaciones en el producto.• Utilización después de hurto.• Utilización de productos con daños o defectos claramente reconocibles.• Utilización de accesorios de otros fabricantes que no estén explícitamente auto-

rizados por Leica Geosystems.• Protección insuficiente del emplazamiento de medición, p.ej. al efectuar medi-

ciones en carreteras.


�Advertencia El uso improcedente puede producir una lesión, un error en el funcionamiento o daños materiales. La persona responsable del equipo informará al usuario sobre los peligros en el uso del equipo y sobre las medidas de protección necesarias. El producto sólo se pondrá en funcionamiento cuando el usuario haya recibido la correspondiente instrucción sobre su uso.


6.3 Límites de utilización

Entorno Apto para el empleo en ambientes permanentemente habitados; sin embargo, no integra dispositivos de protección que garanticen un empleo seguro en entornos agresivos o con peligro de explosión.

�Peligro La persona encargada del producto debe contactar con las autoridades locales y con técnicos en seguridad antes de trabajar en zonas con riesgo de explosión o en la proximidad de instalaciones eléctricas o en situaciones similares.


6.4 Ámbitos de responsabilidad

Fabricante del producto

Leica Geosystems AG, CH-9435 Heerbrugg (en adelante Leica Geosystems) asume la responsabilidad del suministro del producto en perfectas condiciones técnicas de seguridad, inclusive su manual de empleo y los accesorios originales.

Fabricantes de accesorios que no sean Leica Geosys-tems

Los fabricantes de accesorios que no sean Leica Geosystems para el producto tienen la responsabilidad del desarrollo, la implementación y la comunicación de los conceptos de seguridad correspondientes a sus productos y al efecto de los mismos en combinación con el producto de Leica Geosystems.

Persona encargada del producto

La persona encargada del producto tiene las siguientes obligaciones:• Entender la información de seguridad que figura en el producto así como las

correspondientes al Manual de empleo.• Conocer las normas locales de seguridad y de prevención de accidentes.• Informar a Leica Geosystems en cuanto en el equipo o las aplicaciones mues-

tren defectos de seguridad.• Asegurarse de que se respetan la legislación nacional y las regulaciones y

condiciones aplicables al uso de transmisores de radio.


�Advertencia El encargado del producto tiene la responsabilidad de que el equipo se utilice conforme a las normas establecidas. Esta persona también es responsable de la instrucción de los usuarios del equipo y de la seguridad en la utilización del equipo.


6.5 Peligros durante el uso

�Advertencia La falta de instrucción o una instrucción incompleta puede dar lugar a errores en el manejo o incluso a un uso improcedente y, en ese caso, pueden producirse acci-dentes con daños graves para las personas, daños materiales y del medioambiente.Medidas preventivas:Todos los usuarios deben cumplir con las instrucciones de seguridad del fabricante y con las instrucciones del encargado del producto.

�Advertencia Si el emplazamiento de la medición no se protege o marca suficientemente, pueden llegar a producirse situaciones peligrosas en la circulación, obras, instalaciones industriales, etc.Medidas preventivas:Procurar siempre que el emplazamiento esté suficientemente protegido. Tener en cuenta los reglamentos en materia de seguridad y prevención de accidentes, así como las normas del Código de Circulación.


�Advertencia Si se utilizan ordenadores que no estén autorizados por el fabricante para ser utili-zados en el campo, se pueden llegar a producir situaciones de peligro debido a una descarga eléctrica.Medidas preventivas:Tener en cuenta las instrucciones específicas del fabricante para uso en el campo cuando se empleen con productos de Leica Geosystems.

�Cuidado Si los accesorios utilizados con el producto no se fijan correctamente y el producto se somete a acciones mecánicas, p.ej. caídas o golpes, existe la posibilidad de que el producto quede dañado o haya riesgo para las personas.Medidas preventivas:Al estacionar el producto, comprobar que los accesorios (p,ej. trípode, base nive-lante, cables de unión, etc.) se adapten, monten, fijen y bloqueen adecuadamente. Proteger el producto contra acciones mecánicas.

�Advertencia Si el producto se elimina de forma indebida pueden producirse las siguientes situa-ciones:• Al quemar piezas de plástico se producen gases tóxicos que pueden ser motivo

de enfermedad para las personas.• Si se dañan o calientan intensamente las baterías, pueden explotar y causar

intoxicaciones, quemaduras, corrosiones o contaminación medioambiental.


• Si el producto se desecha de forma irresponsable, es posible que personas no autorizadas utilicen el equipo de modo improcedente. Esto podría causar graves lesiones a terceros así como contaminación medioambiental.

Medidas preventivas:Eliminar el producto correctamente. Cumplir con las normas de eliminación especí-ficas del país. Proteger el equipo en todo momento impidiendo el acceso a él de personas no auto-rizadas.


6.6 Compatibilidad electromagnética EMC

Descripción Denominamos compatibilidad electromagnética a la capacidad del producto de funcionar perfectamente en un entorno con radiación electromagnética y descarga electrostática, sin causar perturbaciones electromagnéticas en otros aparatos.

�Advertencia Posibilidad de interferir con otros aparatos a causa de radiación electromagnética.

Aunque el producto cumple los severos requisitos de las directivas y normas aplica-bles, Leica Geosystems no puede excluir por completo la posibilidad de la perturba-ción de otros aparatos.

�Cuidado Posibilidad de perturbación de otros aparatos cuando el producto se utilice en combinación con accesorios de terceros, por ejemplo, ordenadores de campo, PCs, cables diversos o baterías externas.Medidas preventivas:Utilice sólo el equipo y los accesorios recomendados por Leica Geosystems. Ellos cumplen en combinación con el producto los severos requisitos de las directivas y normas aplicables. Cuando utilice ordenadores preste atención a las especifica-ciones del fabricante respecto a su compatibilidad electromagnética.


�Cuidado Las interferencias causadas por radiación electromagnética pueden producir medi-ciones erróneas.Aunque el producto cumple los severos requisitos de las directivas y normas aplica-bles, Leica Geosystems no puede excluir del todo la posibilidad de que una radia-ción electromagnética muy intensa llegue a perturbar el producto, por ejemplo, en la proximidad de emisoras de radio, radiotransmisores o generadores diesel.Medidas preventivas:Cuando se efectúen mediciones en estas condiciones hay que comprobar la plau-sibilidad de los resultados de la medición.

�Advertencia Si el producto está funcionando con un cable conectado sólo por uno de sus extremos, p.ej. cable de alimentación externa o cable de interfaz, se pueden sobre-pasar los valores de radiación electromagnética permitidos y perturbar otros aparatos.Medidas preventivas:Mientras se esté trabajando con el producto los cables han de estar conectados por los dos lados, p.ej. del producto a la batería externa, del producto al ordenador.


�Advertencia La radiación electromagnética puede causar perturbaciones en otros equipos, en instalaciones, en equipos médicos (como marcapasos o aparatos auditivos) y en aeronaves. También puede afectar a personas o animales.Medidas preventivas:Aunque el producto cumple los severos requisitos de las directivas y normas aplica-bles, Leica Geosystems no puede excluir por completo la posibilidad de la perturba-ción de otros aparatos o de que personas o animales puedan resultar afectados.

• No trabajar con el producto en las proximidades de estaciones de servicio o de plantas químicas, ni en zonas en las que haya riesgo de explosión.

• No utilizar el producto cerca de equipos médicos.• No utilizar el producto en un avión.• No trabajar durante periodos largos con el producto muy cerca del cuerpo.


6.7 Normativa FCC (aplicable en EE UU)

�Advertencia Si en el instrumento se efectúan modificaciones que no estén explícitamente auto-rizadas por Leica Geosystems, el derecho de uso del mismo por parte del usuario puede verse limitado.
