Health Coverage Changes

• TCHF is working on programs “refreshing” including Health Coverage

• Will fund Health Coverage through community-based initiatives

• Individual Centers can apply for HC grants in association with community partnerships

• TCHF is “committed to continuing to work with FRC’s”

Rationale for Additional Program Changes

• Youth Sports – TCHF has traditionally not funded sports because the programs tend to draw kids who are more athletic. TCHF is focusing on funding programs with a curriculum (CATCH)

• Summer Food Program - Not type of program TCHF wants to support, concerns about nutritional value of food

• Cooking Matters’ new priority audience is parents of preschoolers

• FRCA’s target for is 55% of adults served• Stipends will continue to be available for up to

three courses per year• Stipend amounts will be adjusted to reflect

the priority audience ($800 for courses for parent of preschoolers)

Preparation for 2014-2015

• FRCA will provide a three week window to adjust your projections based on training and grant dates

• As we have done in the past, we will work with you to revise budgets if your outcomes were lower than expected this year

Page 14: TCHF Reapplication February 2014 Quarterly Meeting.

FRCA is eligible to reapply in two yearsTCHF asks that each center’s request be

less than 15% of total operating budgetFRCA will provide technical assistance

over the next two years to assist centers with raising revenue and/or planning for less TCHF funding.
