Imraan Bux IMRAAN TEXTILE MILLS

Director

Imraan Bux first worked for BMD Knitting Mills in a training position, thereafter he worked for Alitex Textile Mills

in various departments. Imraan briefly worked for David Whitehead in the design studio to broaden my

experience. An opportunity was identified to start our own business and we began a commission weaving

operation to supply the larger companies at that time. As time progressed commission weaving opportunities

became limited due to what had transpired in the industry. He then changed our focus on producing our own

product range, primarily in fashion wear. The focus incrementally moved to school wear and corporate wear due

to the difficulties faced at the time ( cheap imports and duty fraud), establishing a niche in this market. Through

interaction with customers and their respective cmt’s Imraan has managed to establish a good understanding
